Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is a multiplayer knockout game developed by Mediatonic and published by Devolver Digital. The game is available on PS4 and Microsoft Windows. The game sees you and 59 other players compete in a series of knockout rounds ranging from assault courses, team-based events. and other challenges. At the end of each round, some players have eliminated the remaining players continue to the next round until a winner is decided.
You've got obstacle courses that are hilarious and some slightly less interesting team-based levels like capture the flag similar styles. You'll have to balance on rotating platforms in some and if you fall off you're out. You can customize your character but your options are limited at first however as you complete the tournaments you'll earn kudos, which can be used to unlock unique cosmetics.
The controls are pretty simple with jump grab and dive buttons so it's very easy for anybody to pick up and play regardless of your ability. You know at first I really enjoyed this it was really good fun for the first couple of hours, great laugh, very colorful, silly, really enjoyable but then you know it did start to get a bit repetitive but I'd say it's the type of game that will be perfect for people who have half an hour or an hour to kill and they want some light relief.
Visually, it's one of the most colorful experiences I've ever seen. Each round looks like a kaleidoscope of colorful goofy characters running around causing absolute mayhem. The sound is pretty much what you would imagine it to be it's loud it's over the top and it's very cutesy young kids will absolutely love it.
It's very easy to pick up and play the premise and the controls are simple. The levels are varied and it's just a hilarious and ridiculous experience to behold while after a short session the game does start to lose its sparkle. It's not something that will hold your attention for long and the capture the flag type levels are a bit of a chore when compared to the amazing obstacle courses.
Final Thoughts
This game is a fun pick up and play multiplayer game. It's very colorful and silly, the assault courses are varied, but the catch the flag rounds aren't quite as good. It's really a game anyone can play but it's more of an experience to be enjoyed for a quick session, quick half an hour, have a quick go earn some currency, and then go and play something else. It's probably a good game if you're playing something quite intense like a Military Shooter or like a Dark Souls game and you want something on the side to kind of relieve you afterward if just to chill you out, this will be a good option. It will make you laugh it's chilled it's good to play with friends and it's silly you know it won't be the sort of game that's going to last you months but as a little bit of fun on the side definitely worth having a look at.
