Some of them like this one are amazing.
From my understanding don’t waste your time with the 9th one. The company behind the game went bankrupt during that time and it should have never been released with how bad it was.
Have you played Might & Magic X Legacy? That looks to be the most recent and interesting one. I watched a little Youtube footage, and it looks like something I would be interested in.
I have and if you enjoy turn-based/tile-based games it was not bad. Although I prefer MM6 way more over it. The movement around areas in MMX was a bit strange back when I played it many years ago. I don’t usually play games that are so heavily impacted by turn-based movement. This is why I must like MM6 so much more.
It might be a game I revisit one day. There have been a lot of issues with the game itself over the years. So this one is best to get when it’s on sale.
Back when New World Computing was making these games they were amazing except for the last one they made. Now Ubisoft not only owns them they also made MMX.
When they sold MMX they did so by offering free DLC to those that pre-bought them. They failed to deliver the DLCS and instead went cheaply around it and are not interested in doing anything else with the game.
Ubisoft also had some heavy DRM in MMX if you bought it off Steam and other places for instance you would have to use the Ubisoft launcher. It also at the time required an internet connection.
Long story short Ubisoft to save a buck shut down some DRM servers killing a lot of games. This broke MMX for quite a long time. I think that issue has since been fixed.
Creatures and zones in MMX also do not respawn. This for many makes the game a bit challenging since you can’t just go back and regrind an area if you need extra XP, money, or items.
