Among the most challenging combinations are Equal Opportunity and Arcane Dampening — two rules that, together, completely change the way you build a team. In this context, I'm going to build the Life Deck, which can be a powerful weapon in this scenario, especially in the Modern format.
⚖️ Understanding the Rules
Equal Opportunity
All monsters gain the Opportunity ability, which allows them to automatically attack the enemy with the lowest health, regardless of their position. This turns melee monsters into mobile assassins, requiring special attention to positioning and the health of allies.
Arcane Dampening
This rule completely nullifies magic damage. Monsters with magic attacks become useless, forcing players to rely on melee or ranged attacks. Strategies based on magic piercing damage are discarded.
🏰 Why the Life Deck in Modern Mode?
The Life Splinter is known for its resilience, healing, armor, and synergy between support and physical attack. In Modern mode, it benefits from upgraded cards with abilities like Protect, Repair, Cleanse, and Double Strike. In a scenario where magic is disabled and all monsters attack the weakest enemy, the Life deck stands out for:
- High durability with armor and healing
- Fast units with good physical damage
- Access to support like Protect, Cleanse, and Resurrect
🧠 General Strategy in Modern Mode
1. Prioritize monsters with high physical damage
With Opportunity active, melee monsters become killers. Choose those with:
- High Speed (to attack first)
- High Damage
- Abilities like Double Strike, Poison, Sneak, or Cripple
2. Avoid Magic Monsters
With Arcane Dampening, any card with magic damage will be useless. This even includes hybrid cards that alternate between magic and another type of attack.

Since monsters with the lowest health will be the first targets, protecting them is essential:

Speed is king in Equal Opportunity. Attacking first can mean eliminating the target before they can react. Speed buffs or naturally fast monsters are essential.

Here's a suggested lineup for a match with these two rules, assuming a medium mana limit (30–40):

Suggested Summoner:
- Bella Ratajowlski: Grants Shield to all monsters of the "Ulund" lineage, and the "Deflect" ability to all cards. In this scenario, the battle rules favor melee attack cards, which have this physical damage reduction and protection against the Thorns trap.
The "Warwall Juggernaut" card was my wild card of the match because it's a melee card protected from Thorns by the summoner's "Deflect," and it can heavily attack the opponent's low-health card. Besides having a 2-hit melee attack, it also has a second 3-hit melee attack, thanks to the "Armored Strike" ability, which uses armor to attack. Besides being a card with a lot of health, it's unlikely to be targeted, using this offensive ability throughout the match.
Your fast, well-protected monsters will eliminate squishy enemies before they can react. Healing and armor will keep your lane alive longer, giving you the edge.

Entre as combinações mais desafiadoras estão Equal Opportunity e Arcane Dampening — duas regras que, juntas, mudam completamente a forma como se constrói uma equipe. nesse contexto, vou montar o deck da Vida pode ser uma arma poderosa nesse cenário, especialmente no formato Modern.
⚖️ Entendendo as Regras
Equal Opportunity
Todos os monstros ganham a habilidade Opportunity, que permite atacar automaticamente o inimigo com menos vida, independentemente da posição. Isso transforma monstros corpo a corpo em assassinos móveis, e exige atenção especial ao posicionamento e à vida dos aliados.

🧠 Estratégia Geral no Modo Modern
1. Priorize monstros com alto dano físico
Com Opportunity ativo, monstros corpo a corpo se tornam assassinos. Escolha aqueles com:
- Alta velocidade (para atacar primeiro)
- Dano elevado
- Habilidades como Double Strike, Poison, Sneak ou Cripple
2. Evite monstros mágicos

A carta "Warwall Juggernaut" foi a minha carta coringa da partida por ser uma carta "melee" protegido do "Thorns" por "Deflect" do invocador, consegue atacar fortemente a carta com saúde baixa do deck adversário. Já que além de possui uma ataque de 2 melee ainda tem um segundo ataque de 3 melee, graças a habilidade "Armored Strike" que usa a armadura para atacar. Além de ser uma carta com bastante saúde dificilmente vira alvo, usando essa ofensividade durante toda a partida.
Seus monstros rápidos e bem protegidos eliminarão os inimigos frágeis antes que eles possam reagir. A cura e a armadura manterão sua linha viva por mais tempo, garantindo vantagem.
