This video game was developed following Supergiant's Pyre, a game in which they needed to explore the narrative and procedures carried out, but due to the nature of the main game, they discovered that players did not play through Pyre several times but the roguelike structure Hades gave the player the opportunity to tell these branching stories over the course of multiple races.
This fabulous game is presented with an isometric view with the player in command of Zagreus the son of Hades, the game begins with a journey to open paths through several rooms that have different and predetermined designs, which these designs appear randomly in the same way as the enemies in each room, for this reason you have to be prepared to attack and to get as far as possible.
The Son of Hades possesses a main weapon, which produces a special attack and also has a magic spell that he uses to kill enemies, when a race starts, one of the Olympians will provide a gift, with three options representing with three persistent power-ups for that race which you can choose the gifts according to your convenience and these gifts have a theme based on the Olympic.
Every time I clear a room, I am informed or shown as a player the rewards that I can earn if I manage to clear the next room or the choice of the next rooms, ranging from extra Olympian gifts, restoration items, in-game currency, a shop to buy improvements, keys that I can use as a player to use to improve Zagreus's initial conditions for the performance, the most important thing is to prevent my points from going down because if they reach zero I will die and I will Zagreus forced to face my father Hades losing automatically all gifts received or won in the last race or performance.
Each race challenges the player through a random series of rooms populated with enemies and rewards, and the player uses a combination of their primary weapon attack, running power, and magical ability to defeat them while avoiding damage, if Zagreus dies he can use earned treasure to upgrade certain attributes and unlock new weapons and abilities to improve your chances of escaping in later races.
Zagreus is helped by residents of the Underworld, such as Sisyphus, Eurydice or Patroclus, on the other hand there are four places in the underworld called Tartarus, Asphodel, Elysium and the Temple of Styx, in addition Zagreus can explore the underworld before undertaking a new mission, where the Player can use the keys to unlock permanent upgrades for Zagreus, order the construction of new support features for the Underworld, or obtain new weapons. They can also have Zagreus interact with the various characters from the Underworld, which can provide missions with additional rewards.
For his part, Hades tries to prevent his son Zagreus from achieving his goal, so he sends several residents of the Underworld such as Fury Megaera, Alecto and Tisiphone, Theseus, Asterius, and Hades himself.

Persephone explains to her son Zagreus that her marriage to Hades arises as a consequence of representing a gift given by Zeus to Hades for taking over the underworld, and this was taken by Hades as disrespectful and he never forgave Zeus, Zagreus was born dead as Hades said that he would never beget an heir, despite this Persephone ran away in pain, refused to return to her birthplace on Olympus, Zagreus finally came back to life through Nyx's powers in a very long process, Persephone refuses to return to the underworld because he fears reprisals from the Olympians, and especially his mother.
Zagreus convinces his biological mother to return to the underworld where they sailed from Greece to the House of Hades on the river Styx carried by Charon, Persephone resumes her duties as Queen of the Underworld and Hades, now with renewed respect for her son, allows her Zagreus to continue his escape attempts under the pretext of finding security vulnerabilities in the Underworld.
Persephone organized a meeting and celebration with the Olympians at Hades' house to smooth things over and ask for forgiveness, which was accepted by the Olympians, despite what happened they gave a clean slate leaving all parties happy and content, leaving Zagreus with new responsibilities such as prince of the underworld.

El juego se anunció el 6 se diciembre de 2018 y se confirmó como unos de los primeros títulos de terceros anunciado por Epic Games Store Amir Rao que luego se lanzó para Steam el 10 de diciembre de 2019, para después desarrollar una versión para Microsoft Windows macOS y Nintendo Switch el 17 de septiembre de 2020.Este videojuego se desarrolló siguiendo a Supergiant's Pyre , un juego en el que necesitaban explorar la narrativa y procedimientos llevados a cabo, pero debido a la naturaleza del juego principal, descubrieron que los jugadores no jugaban a través de Pyre varias ocasiones pero la estructura roguelike de Hades les dio la oportunidad de contar estas historias ramificadas al jugador en el transcurso de múltiples carreras.
Este fabuloso juego se presenta con una vista isométrica con el jugador al mando de Zagreus el hijo de hades, el juego comienza con un recorrido para abrirse caminos a través de varias habitaciones que poseen diseños diferentes y predeterminados, los cuales dichos diseños aparecen de forma aleatoria de la misma forma que los enemigos en cada habitación, por esta razón hay que estar preparado para atacar y para poder llegar lo más lejos posible.
El Hijo de hades posee un arma principal, que produce un ataque especial y también tiene un hechizo mágico que utiliza para matar enemigos, cuando se inicia una carrera, uno de los atletas olímpicos proporcionará un regalo, con tres opciones que representan con tres potenciadores persistentes para esa carrera el cual puede elegir los regalos según su conveniencia y dichos regalos posee una temática basada en el olímpico.
Cada vez que despejo una habitación, se me informa o muestra como jugador las recompensa que puedo ganar si logró despejar la siguiente habitación o la elección de las siguientes habitaciones, que van desde obsequios olímpicos adicionales, artículos de restauración, moneda del juego, una tienda para comprar mejoras, claves que se puede usar como jugador usar para mejorar los condiciones iniciales de Zagreus para la actuación, lo más importante es evitar que mis puntos bajen porque si llegan a cero moriré y estaré yo Zagreus obligado a enfrentarme con mi padre Hades perdiendo automáticamente todos los regalos recibidos o ganados en la última carrera o actuación.

Pero el motivo que tiene Zagreus para escapar del Inframundo es para encontrar a Perséfone , su madre biológica a quien nunca conoció, ya que siempre le habían dicho que era el hijo de Nyx, por tal razón Hades prohibió que se hablara en su Casa de Perséfone de lo contrario lo pagaría caro donde sufrirá un castigo inimaginable.
Zagreus al derrotar a Hades encuentra a Perséfone en Grecia donde tiene un encuentro lleno de muchas lágrimas y sentimientos encontrados al descubrir ,descubre que debe volver al inframundo, ya que no puede sobrevivir mucho tiempo en la superficie, sin embargo prometió a su madre biológica volver para pasar tiempo con ella.
Perséfone explica a su hijo Zagreus que su matrimonio con Hades surge como consecuencia por representar un regalo otorgado por Zeus a Hades por hacerse cargo del inframundo, y esto fue tomado por Hades como irrespetuoso y nunca perdonó a Zeus, Zagreus nació muerto ya que Hades dijo que nunca engendraría un heredero, a pesar de esto Perséfone se escapó llena de dolor negó a regresar a su lugar de nacimiento en el Olimpo, Zagreus finalmente volvió a la vida a través de los poderes de Nyx en un proceso muy largo, Perséfone se niega a regresar al inframundo porque teme represalias por parte de los olímpicos, y especialmente su madre.
Zagreus convence a su madre biológica para que regrese al inframundo donde navegaron desde Grecia hacia la Casa de Hades en el río Estigia transportados por Caronte, Perséfone reanuda sus deberes como Reina del Inframundo y Hades, ahora con un respeto renovado por su hijo, le permite a Zagreus continuar sus intentos de fuga con el pretexto de encontrar vulnerabilidades de seguridad en el Inframundo.
Perséfone organizó una reunión y celebración con los olímpicos en casa de Hades para limar asperezas y pedir perdón lo cual fue aceptado por los olímpicos a pesar de lo que sucedió dieron borrón y cuenta nueva quedando todas las partes felices y contentos quedando Zagreus con nuevas responsabilidades como príncipe del inframundo.
En total contamos con seis armas espada, arco, lanza, escudo, puños y un cañón, este juego te invita a practicar con cada una de las armas, en Hades si elegimos la arma que nos recomiendan antes de volver ir al inframundo conseguiremos un bonus en la oscuridad y si buscamos farmear nos vendrá de perlas.
Los ataques básicos son tres, más el botón de esquivar los cuales se describen en Un ataque normal, uno especial y el conjuro, estos pueden ir mejorando y subiendo su nivel gracias a las mejoras obtenidas de las bendiciones de los dioses.
Si el juego se nos hace imposible hay una forma de jugar mas fácil con estas opciones podremos activar el Modo Dios, el cual cada vez que morimos nos da un +2% más de resistencia a los ataques; por lo tanto si tenemos que reiniciar muchas veces, entre las mejoras que vayamos comprando nosotros mediante oscuridad, y de este bonus poco a poco iremos avanzando poco a poco.
El mapa se divide en sala y cada sala está llena de enemigos que debemos derrotar, además de conseguir el objeto que nos tengan que dar para así activar las puertas que nos abrirán paso para avanzar, en cada sala en norma general encontraremos dos puertas con un símbolo, ya sea el icono que simboliza a un dios, o para conseguir gemas, dinero o la tienda yo debo seleccionar lo más importante que me garantice vida y mejoras para continuar.
