Welcome. Today I am going to introduce you to the game "Outlast" released in 2013 by Red Barrels, this production is considered by many to be the horror of 2013, and even the scariest game ever made. Is it right? We will find out soon, I invite you to review.

Good time for a story. We play the role of a reporter named Miles whose greatest ambition is to experience a real horror that would never be undertaken by any other reporter. Our protagonist also grabs the camera and goes to the Mount Massive psychiatric hospital to discover its Dark Secrets and show the whole world why the facility was abandoned for a long time. However, it has recently been revived by a mysterious corporation called Murkoff Corporation, that's all I can say for a start. How is the outlast storyline? As for me, nothing interesting - secret experiments on people, a bit of religion, generally not very original. But it's not the story itself that matters, but the atmosphere.

We get to know the story mainly thanks to the notes scattered here and there. Therefore, it is worth combing the area carefully so as not to miss something. There is no need to talk much about the graphics, the best looking horror movies that have been made so far. Sharp textures, masterfully crafted night mode in our camera, which is our main light source. I also miss any interaction with the environment, everything stands still and nothing can be moved. The audio side does not leave much to be desired, all the sounds reaching our ears are at a very high level, it is surprising that this is only an independent production.

It's time to play So What is Outlast? Hide and Seek horror, such as Amnesia. Let's start with puzzles, here we have to get to the right place, for example, move 2 levers to start the generator. And so we will do through the game, escaping from opponents and performing the tasks entrusted to us.

Our only "weapon" here is a night mode camera that will help us navigate the underground corridors of Mount Massive Asylum. You practically do not need to hide it at all, the hero, despite the activated camera, can still do everything he normally does, i.e. sprint, jump, climb and so on. The only problem here is the batteries in the camera. However, the battery only takes energy when the night mode is turned on. We can carry a maximum of 10 batteries with us, they spawn virtually anywhere and come back in case we run out. So there is nothing to fear for powering our camera.

How is it with opponents? There are a few types of them, each one differs in speed, amount of damage dealt and of course in appearance. However, they have one thing in common - they are all the same "morons", they like to get stuck on door frames and other objects or sometimes they don't know whether to hit us or just look at the wall. They're "psychopaths" after all. The thing that smashed me the most was that our opponents are not grasping the handles, just close the door and they prefer to force it instead of just pressing the handle. I understand if they were some monsters with deformed limbs, but they are only mentally ill people, so no exaggeration, although it adds a bit of atmosphere.

Okay, but how can our hero deal with the threat? We can only count on our agility. The hero is not one of the worst runners, he never gets tired, he can jump over various objects, walk around buildings, he is twice as fast as any enemy and in general ...

In addition to all this, we can also hide in many places - a cupboard, under the bed, etc. Again the stupidity of the opponents comes out, or rather deafness, it is enough for the enemy to stand next to and enter the cupboard, and they will not hear us leave and slam the door.

But this is not the most important thing in Outlast, but the gameplay and the atmosphere. The atmosphere is really great and can keep you in suspense, which is what this type of games is all about. There are many levels when you think that everything is fine and you've already run away from your opponents, and then another one pops up, or you are next to the key you were looking for for, say, 15 minutes, and suddenly an enemy spawns in front of you and you have to run away in stab, and then go back the same way, avoid the enemies and recover the key again. Well, the climate is really cool. So in my opinion, the game is worth attention. I recommend!

Straszna. Silent Hill chyba lepszy na takie klimaty co?
