Quests

Experience is more important than gold because your level multiplies your character status. It is better to invest in XP quests than gold or items, specially when items quickly lose their usefulness since you have to buy new items from the Item Store everyday to get more bread.

Bread

Bread is something you should never spend except on lv1 +XP potions and epic or legendary heroes. Do not use it to reset quest or arena cooldowns. Stack it up! Since they are slow to come by anyway, you should never get a +XP potion of level 2 or 3 because they don't properly multiply their effects like the other potions.

Gold

You should spend all of your gold on status, but do not forget to buy an item from the item store for your bread daily. This is munch more important than it seems because buying items from the store is the only way they get a better gold supply, which is important much later on.

Arena

How to choose your opponent

When choosing an arena opponent, picking a fight against the lowest level gives you the best chance. Again, level multiplies some status. It affects critical strike chances. By attacking lower level players, they are much less likely to critically you and you are more likely to critically hit them.

Being more likely to deal criticals is very important because it essentially doubles your damage for free. You have a much higher chance of dealing critical hits when you're higher level.

You should also lookout for weird stats. If an enemy has 0 weapon damage or very very low constitution, then you are extremely likely to win against them.

The 4th choice in the arena is always someone below your ranking, so you won't climb up if you beat them. However, it is often a very safe choice if you don't want to waste time completing your arena daily.

Questing

We have three quest choices, but which one is more efficient for you? Even if you generally want to pick the one that awards more XP, you can simply always choose the 15m quest if you're going to be away from the computer for a while anyway.

However if you're going to sit at your PC for an hour, then you want to maximize your available holybread energy. You can do that by running your Windows calculator. That is, of course, considering none of them have items. You should avoid quests that award items.

If a quest has 5m, just take those numbers as they are. On 10m quests you divide them by 2. On 15m quests you divide them by 3. Then pick whatever XP number is higher.

Sometimes the 5m quest is much better than all others, so you can't just click the 15m quest all the time.

Example

5m quest 20xp, 10m quest 100xp, 15m quest 140xp
20, 50, 46

You can choose either the 10m quest or the 15m quest and it'll be about the same. In this scenario, only the 5m quest is inferior.

Market

At the time of writing this, the market is an awful feature because it takes a 10 cents +5% fee of every purchase, which means everything you see on it will be overpriced. Not a single item is worth more than 10 cents in this game, so don't bother buying or selling anything at all!

You'd better off stacking bread to buy heroes than paying money for them, so even for that the market is completely useless. You're going to get bread just by playing anyway.

Unless holybread devs lower their market fee to 1 cent, you can completely ignore it without any worry whatsoever. I'd often use the market if it had a lower fee, but I'm sure noone who is into this game would give any credit to the market thanks to it's humongous fee.

Also don't buy high value items early because you won't be able to sell them since the item store actually needs to have enough gold in order to buy it. I bought a 50k gold item for 10 cents. Can't do anything with it now.

Profit

Save up breadcrumbs, take them out to steem-engine, put up a sell order. The devs will buy them from everybody once a week. Don't bother doing this on your first few days though. You won't make enough for even 0.2 steem until you're in the top 100 active arena players.

Is it worth spending on this game?

Premium

Premium takes like 6 months to pay itself (source: friend who is better than top 40 in the arena rankings) off through breadcrumbs. Better just go free, then! You can grind more than enough for Premium Lite over that time anyway, so you shouldn't get it at all.

Premium Lite is acceptable only once you're farther into the game, since you won't have enough strong heroes for a while. It'll take less than 6 months to reach a point when it's useful, so still better than premium.

Generally, premium is horrible because of the abusive market fees. I'm not going to delegate SP or buy premium or anything else that favors this game unless the market fee is greatly lowered.

Conclusion

This game will continue to be little more than a time hog until the market fee changes. Both holybread and it's players would profit from lowering the fee since people would ACTUALLY USE the market.

I'm alright with buying items for my characters if they cost me up to 5 cents, but you won't find anything below 20 cents simply because holybread will take a fee of at least ~11 cents out of every transaction.

Dead market, dead game.

Sort:

I have not played it much even though I have an account... this review does not inspire much either... I will do a quest once in a while when I remember and build up slowly, who knows if I can makes some steem in the future

It could become really good if they reduce the market tax, so I'm not discarding it yet.
