I asked chatgpt if I can write a let's play of this game on my Hive.blog . It said that I can but it was not sure if can monetize my posts/ get rewards for them. I would love to get rewards for posts like this. Especially considering that it takes me hours to write and has 1+k words. But at the same time I really don't want to get in any legal trouble(even if that is very unlikely). So I intend to just decline rewards in posts about this game. I believe that other games are not so strict about monetization/ rewards so I still plan to take rewards for my posts about Zero parades for dead spies and other games.

Wait, if you've written it I don't think you get in any legal troubles, people monetize gameplay on youtube all the time and are protected. Not sure certain games are exempt from that. I think you should be fine.
Thank you. chatgpt said that it is fine to monetize videos of this game on youtube but blog posts are not cleary allowed or not allowed so that is more like a grey area left for interpretation. But I would also find it really bizarre if bigger youtubers could earn hundreds+(?) from videos of this game and I would not be allowed to monetize my posts that earn a few dollars. That would be quite unfair.
Maybe I'm wrong but game studios like when people talking about their games especially when this is not paid promotion. They can potentialy get new players because someone can be interested in that game. Many streamers just play games they just need use good category on twitch/youtube with that game. Streamers/Content Creators can also get money from ads and donations.
Yes you are probably right. I imagine that most studios would like to get not paid promotions.
I was a streamer when I had better laptop now can't handle streaming anymore and even small private servers wanted to pay me for banner on my live stream and I got share revenue from refferals. Gaming is a really big buisness where not only game creators made money.
I also tried making let's plays on yotube but later I just gave up because I still have only a few folowers/subscribers and basically get no likes/ comments.
Is hard to be popular on youtube/twitch but this is possible my main account has over 1k subs in YouTube.
Anyway many people records their gameplays at youtube and just drop links on hive blog with description about gameplay here as a post. Same for streams they just make a post about live streaming with description what they plan to do on their live streams.
