The Codemasters Software Company Limited, trading as Codemasters, is a British video game developer and publisher based in Southam, England. Founded by brothers Richard and David Darling in October 1986, Codemasters is one of the oldest British game studios, and in 2005 was named the best independent video game developer by magazine Develop. Codemasters Group Holdings plc is the holding company of Codemasters, which is publicly-traded and owns The Codemasters Software Company Limited.
As far as gameplay goes, it's very similar to Mario Karts as I told you before, since it's about races where there are no rules, the main thing is to win the competition being played. The game has available the 24 drivers of the 2012 Formula 1 season, the 12 teams and the circuits, this last one having only 11, which I think is very little, compared to the almost 20 that were visited in that year, in the top category of the world sport as far as motor racing is concerned. Among the game modes found in F1 Race Stars, we have the trajectory mode, Single Test, Championship, Time Trial and multiplayer mode. The trajectory mode is the one that stands out the most in the game, as it has a good number of competitions that are unlocked and increase in difficulty as the player advances in the video game. Unique test is the fast race where the player has the opportunity to choose the team and his favorite character, as well as the circuit or track of his preference and even make the configuration of the race options that normally come in this type of entertainment (Game). The championship mode is to simulate the previous one, the only thing that varies is that each of the circuits is covered in the form of an official calendar and when obtaining the positions in the races, we are given a series of points according to the result, to be accumulating and trying to reach the best score to launch with the championship. The time trial mode consists of making the best possible time on a course, this being my second favourite mode among those I mention.

Multiplayer mode is also present in F1 Race Stars, where there is a locally split screen mode where up to 4 users can play. There is also the online mode where up to 12 players can play via RaceNet. This mode being the most attractive and the most competitive for fighting in the races where the talent I have each person and not like the normal modes where you fight is with the skill and configuration codes of an Artificial Intelligence (AI). In addition, this mode allows you to interact and share with anyone in the world, forming communities or even virtual tournaments among friends, family and anyone with an Internet connection. The mode works smoothly, and is very flexible and complete in terms of this type of game. The number of drivers available in the online mode is good, however, I think that if there were 22 serial players more interesting and there would be more competition and the one who would win would do a better job.

During competitions, the game has a number of options and tricks that players can do. Among them we find what is the turbo that has been like the Kers technology in F1 that gives an increase in engine power and therefore higher speed on the straights and from my point of view, this is better to use it on the straights and not in the corners where you can lose control of the car. I also know what power ups these come out when we pass a star, the mimes are spread out over several parts of the circuit and give us objects to increase speed and even to attack the opponents. Racers can also be affected by the entry of a security car which makes the rider have to slow down. And the best thing is that there are the boxers where we can fix our cars from the different attacks of the rivals. In short, it makes competitions more interesting, where loyalty is not important, but winning is the goal. I think these aspects mentioned are good and positive as they simulate many things that really happen in formula 1 racing, beyond this being a game with cartoon characters, where some are real drivers and others are fictional.
Among the 11 circuits found in the game are Belgium, Germany, Italy, Brazil, Abu Dhabi, Monaco, Singapore, Australia, USA, England and Japan.

As for the games' graphics, the developer Codemaster did a good job. They used the EGO Graphic Engine, which greatly improves the perspective of the cars and the different visual effects we usually see in a race or game of this type. The fluidity of the images is very good, and not only that, but also the feeling of speed and more when using the kers and power ups system, where the karts reach a higher speed. The designs of the cars are very good, their modeling is quite similar to F1, only in miniatures and more caricature, which makes the game more enjoyable and jovial. The locations where the events take place look very nice, very colorful and in many cases they were created based on real F1 circuits and also fictional ones; that is, invented by the game developer. The best thing that Codemaster did was the effect on the weather changes, which visually looks good and the best thing is that it affected the gameplay, making it more realistic for players. Anyway, I think the creator of the game did a great job, I can't complain about anything in this technical area.
Ego Game Technology Engine is a video game engine developed by Codemasters.Ego is a modified version of the Neon game engine that was used in Colin McRae: Dirt and was developed by Codemasters and Sony Computer Entertainment using Sony Computer Entertainment's PhyreEngine cross-platform graphics engine.[1] The Ego engine was developed to render more detailed damage and physics as well as render large-scale environments.

As for the sound, I think it is very, very entertaining for the children, however it is a step behind the previous technical section, having several aspects to improve. The best you can say is the sound of the car engines, it's very good. While the visual effects and soundtrack are very discreet, the latter being the most disappointing. I think the game maker's work in terms of sound was moderate, not so bad but many things that could have been better. In short, this section is no more than the best of Codemaster's other games of this type or creator.

In conclusion, F1 Race Stars is a pretty entertaining game that in terms of playability has a good variety of game modes, which I always demand a good amount but for game type I think it's fine. The multiplayer mode is fully compliant with both the local split screen and online mode, where only 12 players can play in the latter, which is a good number but if it were 22 they would be very good, as there would be more players and competition for games. Also in the gameplay we see the different obstacles and objects that we see in the races, like the Kers system and Power Ups that give an increase in speed (Turbo in other games) and the other objects to attack the opponents. Also the cars are usually damaged and we can go in to repair the boxers, but of course losing positions and finally we have what is the safety car that makes the cars slow down. Graphically the game is really good, with very few things that could be better, but it doesn't diminish the quality and good work done by Codemaster in this regard. As for the sound, it's a bit disappointing since it's good, but it's not as amazing as most of the games I've shared with you, especially the soundtrack. Finally, in terms of playability I give it a 9.5, graphically a 9.8 and in terms of sound a 6.
