Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky FC, es un juego del estilo RPG (Rol Playing Game) diseñado por Nihon Falcom, una de las casas más antiguas enfocada en el diseño de juegos de este género y que al día de hoy permanece activa, fue fundada en el año 1981 y dentro de su catálogo podemos encontrar clásicos como Ys, la saga Trails y The Legend of Heroes. Trails in the Sky FC es el primer juego de la saga "Kiseki" o Trails. La cual se puede considerar un sub juego dentro de la serie Legend Of Heroes la cual data de los años 80; época en que Falcom lanzo Dragon Slayer para el sector PC. Al ser una franquicia tan longeva quizás no sabemos por dónde comenzar; sin embargo, Trails in the Sky FC sería ideal para comenzar a conocer esta saga. Trails in the Sky FC fue lanzado originalmente en PC en 2004, El juego más tarde fue portado a la consola Sony PSP en 2006. Sin embargo, en Occidente haría su debut oficial a finales de 2011; aunque el juego no fue un record de ventas con el pasar del tiempo se ha convertido en objeto de culto.

El juego nos presenta a Joshua y Estelle, quienes de manera fortuita emprenden un viaje para convertirse en miembros de los Bracers Guild, nuestros personajes deben viajar por todo el reino buscando las aprobaciones de los grandes maestros, adicional los veremos desempeñando trabajos ocasionales y prestando sus servicios para ganarse la aprobación de las sucursales locales; en ocasiones nos veremos en la posibilidad de interactuar con otros personajes y hacernos amigos de ellos. A pesar de que la trama puede parecer trillada, esto es lejano a la realidad; mientras más nos adentramos en el juego descubriremos que existen asesinatos, intrigas, conspiraciones y traiciones. Lo cual nos lleva a una trama más seria y profunda. Algo que debemos tomar en consideración es que este no es un juego para jugar en media hora. Como si se tratase de una novela de suspenso nos lleva a un ritmo pausado hasta lograr el clímax. Es un juego extenso con grandes diálogos, terreno que descubrir y horas para jugar.

Trails in the Sky FC tiene un gran elenco de personajes secundarios, con personalidades particulares que se roban el espectáculo siempre que aparecen en pantalla. Un punto en contra de este juego es que tenemos la oportunidad de jugar con esos personajes por un solo capitulo, lo cual hace que invirtamos horas personalizando el personaje, poniendo a tono sus habilidades para después tener que dejarlo ir; en otro capítulo tendremos que hacer lo mismo con los nuevos personajes que se nos presentan; cada personaje aparece en la trama mientras su historia sea relevante o en caso contrario sus obligaciones los lleve a diferentes direcciones. Para los que han jugado juegos clásicos de rol puede que este sistema le recuerde a Grandia.

El juego presenta Sprites 2D en un plano 3D, eso le da al juego control total sobre el plano de las cámaras; adicional hace que el juego se note fresco, las imágenes son agradables por lo cual no sientes que el juego este recargado. Los personajes se notan expresivos, bien dibujados. Los diseñadores aplican efectos visuales que nos da una perspectiva diferente con respecto a otros juegos del género. En el apartado musical no se presentan muchas sorpresas, sin embargo, cada tema está bien ajustado a las situaciones que se presentan, en momentos determinantes la música tiene la carga emotiva necesaria para sumergirte más en la historia, La música en ocasiones se distancia de los típicos sonidos de música clásica llevándolos más a un punto de fusión con otros géneros. Trails in the Sky es un juego de rol por turnos con un sistema de batalla semi-táctico. Dentro del sistema de pelea se toma en consideración el rango de movimiento y áreas de daño para movimientos especiales. Se enfoca sobre todo en el orden del turno y como manipularlo para obtener los mejores resultados. Un sistema que tiene un conjunto de opciones que podemos personalizar como en otros juegos de rol, sin embargo, este nos da un acceso total a modificarlo.

It focuses mainly on the order of the turn and how to manipulate it to obtain the best results. A system that has a set of options that we can customize as in other RPGs, however, this gives us full access to modify it.
Trails in the Sky es un juego donde debemos hacer grandes recorridos, hablar con personajes, existen mini juegos, tenemos la opción de personalizar a nuestros personajes y el sistema de batalla. Es un juego el cual nos lleva por historias complejas, por ende, este juego se disfruta en muchos aspectos. Este es uno de esos juegos a los cuales debemos dedicarle nuestro tiempo. un juego que recomiendo con los ojos cerrados. Espero puedan jugarlo y sobre todo pasarla bien.
