I went back to the icy waters of the North Atlantic today, and honestly, all I wanted was a quiet moment to explore. I’ve barely seen a fraction of this frozen world, and between missions and unexpected chaos, I’ve been craving a chance to wander a little. But, of course, Assassin’s Creed Rogue had other plans for me—beautifully complicated plans. The story has its hooks on me, especially with that unsettling intrigue surrounding Franklin. Every little clue feels like a thread pulling me deeper, so instead of drifting around the ocean like I’d hoped, I ended up sailing straight into the mission that required infiltrating the Albany Congress.

The moment I stepped inside, I had to stop myself from getting distracted. The environment felt alive—full of little details that were easy to miss if you weren’t paying attention. Franklin was there, passionately defending the idea of autonomy for the British colonies. His voice carried a mix of firmness and exhaustion, like someone who had repeated the same argument countless times and still believed every word. Before I could get closer, a man I didn’t recognize approached him. They exchanged a few hushed words, and the stranger slipped a mysterious object into his hand. That alone was enough to push my curiosity to dangerous levels, so naturally, I followed the trail.

The investigation quickly escalated in a way only this game manages to pull off. Suddenly, it wasn’t just stealth and eavesdropping; I had to eliminate a target named Wardrop to obtain a journal—something like personal notes explaining the function of that strange object. Tracking him down wasn’t difficult, but getting to him without causing a scene? That nearly drove me insane. Maybe I’m still too slow with the controls, or maybe I just overthink everything, but what should’ve been a clean infiltration turned into a careful dance of patience, missteps, and whispered apologies to every guard I unintentionally bumped into.

Once I finally had Wardrop’s journal in hand, I made my way to the mansion to deliver it. That part felt almost ceremonial. After all the sneaking, stabbing, hiding, and sprinting, walking up to hand over the item felt like resurfacing after being underwater. A short moment to breathe. A brief reminder that the plot keeps twisting no matter how ready I think I am.

And yes—like always—the mission that looked the simplest on paper ended up swallowing way more time than expected. I’m still adjusting to how Rogue handles movement and combat, and sometimes my fingers refuse to cooperate when I need them the most. But I managed. Maybe not gracefully, but I did. And there’s a small joy in that kind of messy victory.

That wrapped up the chapter, even though exploring had been my original plan. I drifted so far from what I intended to do today, but that’s the charm of these games—you think you’re going one way, and suddenly you’re pulled into a political conspiracy involving mysterious objects, hidden motives, and a trail of bodies you definitely didn’t plan on leaving behind.

Next time, though, I really want to explore. For real. I want to let the ship glide between icebergs, find unmarked little corners of the map, and see what secrets are hiding under all that snow. But knowing myself, I’ll probably get caught up in something unexpected again.

Anyway, kisses and warm greetings to all my friends in the community. See you soon, and may your adventures—digital or otherwise—treat you kindly.
