Hello gamers! Hope you are having a great start of a new week! π
I know that my feed on here is quite empty of gaming posts while I was posting once per week a new game review, but that's because being summer I have lots of other opportunities to explore offline life rather than the online one so I have very few time left to open up a game or a folder with screenshots taken in one that I played in the past.
However, while I'm on a short vacation with my boyfriend and enjoying a 16 hours long ride with the train while writing this, I thought about sharing my personal thoughts on a game that everyone was crazy with when it appeared, creating waves and a new gaming trend back then.
While most of the streamers were trying this one out and you could hear at least one friend playing it, as much fuss was created then, as quick people forgot about it... until recently when it became free.
We all know how much people love games, but what people love more, is to try out a game for free before figuring out whether it's worth the money or not. However, this is not a problem anymore since June 21st when it became free for all no matter whether you play it from a PC, Xbox, Playstation or even Nintendo Switch.
Anyway, I wasn't one of the people who got to play this for free because the game seemed so cute when it appeared and it was a completely new gaming mode that I wished so badly to try out, so I ended up buying it not long after it first appeared. Though, I have no regrets for doing so because I did spend quite a few hours playing it both of my own, with my sister and even with my boyfriend who realized how bad he is on this kind of games, lol.
As adorable the game looks like, Fall Guys is far from one of these games that can be played by everyone because it involves lots of skill and dexterity, but most importantly, nerves of iron, lol.
I'm saying that because you will see that it's not so easy to control your character, being one of these games with gummy players that won't jump or catch something too easily making it both fun and annoying at the same time, especially when you meet a random player that pushes you away from an obstacle or even stops you from crossing the finish line.
There are lots of maps, each of them having a different way to make a score or qualify further, but the most representative theme of the game are the obstacles which are either moving, hitting players or even falling when you make a step on them, so you gotta learn fast all the tips and tricks the game comes with, before making your way to the top.
Personally, I reached countless times top 3 but never managed to get the crown as the grand winner of a match, which is still annoying for me since I have experience playing all kind of games and I considered myself a pretty good and dedicate player, haha.
Along with all the colourful characters including sausages, pirates, animals and what-not, with every match you play, you are going to earn exp which levels you up and unlocks more items for your player.
However, just like most of the online/multiplayer games released these days, the developers managed to find a way to earn a lot more money from the players who are maniacs when it comes to getting items for their characters which even though they don't add any skill or bonus to it, people still love investing real money for digital stuff. So if you want exclusive items that won't be dressed up by everyone, most likely you will need to get some money out of your pocket for that.
This is also among the reasons why games like Fortnite, CSGO, Fall Guys, COD Warzone, and a lot more will never die, because even though sooner or later they became free to play, there are million of players who invest money in those items/skins.
Actually, before having Fall Guys become free to play, there have been released 2 more similar games with the same mode but which cost nothing to be played by people, that being also the moment when everyone forgot about this game being focused more on the free ones. So the update everyone expected to see, didn't last to appear.
Conclusions π€
Fall Guys is definitely a trendsetter in the gaming industry even though there are already a few more options to pick from in 2022 regarding the game you wish to try out, but I still think this is the best with this mode even now, after it became free for all.
Even though the game is free to play, don't expect to end up not investing any money in it because there will be lots of temptations in terms of items you could add to your character or even special modes that require money to be unlocked.
And last but not least, Fall Guys is a game where you will forget about family, friends or relationships, because with all the crowd of players it's hard to focus on the others too while you make your way to the top, so make sure not to take the experience too seriously.
