Live Summit - Highlights [Let's Play Games #49]

in Hive Gaming β€’ 2 years ago (edited)

Heya racing lovers! πŸ™Œ

While the past few days I felt a little bit more tired and sleepy than usual, I can only say that I was looking forward to see being released a new Live Summit in The Crew 2 for a tad more adrenaline and to put in function the blood from my veins, and how else to do it if not in a very competitive game?

Don't know if you figured it out already or not, but I am very competitive when it comes to games. Not because I feel like being the best in all of them because I think it's impossible to be out there a gamer that has the best performances in various game genres just like it was in high school when the teachers asked us to be good at all the subjects we were learning about. A pretty deep comparison, right? πŸ™ƒ

Though, as much as I enjoyed the previous Live Summit the one released today called Highlights is no less interesting and you will see why a little bit later, but until then let's find out what tasks we can complete between 2-9th February:

  1. Aerobatics - being required to fly a plane and match some shapes in the air by doing acrobatics and collecting at least 3,230 points. [No Restriction Race]
  2. Escape - where you are requested to drive no less than 940 meters away from a marked area on the map. [No Restriction Race]
  3. Slalom - where you are needed to do slaloms between various objects placed on the ground on an off-road trail and collect 3,370 points to move further. [No Restriction Race]
  4. Touring - a pretty common race on the circuit where you need to finish the race before 05:32.000 minutes. [No Restriction Race]
  5. Rally Raid - another off-road race held on a Rally Cross trail. You also need to reach the finish line faster than 05:20.000 minutes. [No Restriction Race]
  6. Alpha Grand Prix - that type of race held on the circuit where you are driving an Open-wheel car against another player and have to win the race before 06:15.000 minutes. [No Restriction Race]
  7. Rally Cross - one more off-road race but also the last one like this from the current event where you need, again, to complete the race faster than 06:24.000 minutes. [No Restriction Race]
  8. Touring - yet another race held on the circuit but where I personally like using a bike for more flexibility. Reaching the end of the race before 05:11.000 minutes it's also a must here. [No Restriction Race]
  9. Hyper - finishing the event in the fastest way possible and filled with adrenaline driving a top-notch car. Again, you need to finish the race faster than 04:44.000 minutes. [No Restriction Race]

There are two main things I should mention about if you haven't noticed already from the featured banner of the post, namely:

  • After so many Live Summits played, I can finally say that I didn't have to purchase any vehicle for this weekly event as I was already owning one from each category. You can see when I don't have a vehicle requested in the game when the box with the type of race I have to complete is red.

  • All 9 races from the event don't have any restrictions. What does that mean? That you can basically drive any vehicle you want for the races. No matter if it's a car or a bike, it's literally up to you. In the previous weekly events there were always a few with either a forced vehicle or a specific vehicle requested to be bought, so this is a big relief that you won't be needed to spend any more money this week. πŸ™‚

Though this kind of advantage is only for those who already unlocked all disciplines from the game and have at least one vehicle for each but if you are at the beginning of your journey playing The Crew 2 you might end up in need of buying a lot more vehicles than usual. 😒

I don't know how important these aspects are for some of you, but I am a person who has one favourite vehicle I prefer driving on each of the disciplines you will find in the game, so when I got to use a specific one is quite a challenge for me as I first need to figure out how stable this is and how its handling works. That's why, I usually end up by replaying those races for a few times before moving on, but this time it's a huge relief for me because I have all the races from the game completed already so we can say that I sort of know the trails and it's just a matter of time until I figure out what vehicle I can use to get the best score. πŸ˜‡

It's also, I think, the first time I see this in the game, after a few tens, maybe one hundred of Live Summits completed so far. So I do appreciate every new thing introduced in The Crew 2 because we all know how hard is to come up with something new in a game that it's constantly changing and there are not so many ideas left to make this a more unique experience to enjoy.

Actually, this weekly event might not seem as random as it seems for the Europeans, because the fresh week released in Motornation celebrates the most iconic competition held in the US with the most emblematic stages of the US Speed Tour from the last summer. So if there are any US hivers who are playing this game, I'm looking forward to hearing more from you!!! πŸ˜‡

Anyway, if you are curious to find my thoughts of this Live Summit keep in mind that I think it's one of the most accessible for everyone due to the races which even though are quite long, they all can be completed pretty easy by anyone and get a score of at least 100,000 points on each of them, which also comes with more bucks and rewards earned than usual, and who doesn't love seeing those numbers from their wallet rising? 😜

I know this was perhabs already noticed by you in the picture with the scores I got on each of the races, but the single one I had some issues with, is the 2nd race (Escape) where the whole action takes place in the street and you are requested to drive away from a specific area that is slowly covering more and more parts of the map and sooner or later you will be caught by it. The single impediment here is that there are too many curves and traffic in the city so you won't have enough time to get too far away from that area, but if you manage to get yourself on the highway, you will drive for a while leaving behind the scary red dot.

Another thing that I really liked about this Highlights Live Summit and forgot to mention, is the rewards you get on each of the races that are not something little at all. For example, there is this reward of 300.000 followers which is basically a lot more than what you get from the game if you place yourself on the bronze level which usually comes with 150.000 followers only as reward. There is also the race with 20x Motorstars which mean you will get 2 levels further in The Contractor Season for simply just doing one race from the weekly event. πŸ˜€

Anyway, I couldn't end this post before coming with an update on how the levelling up on the Episode 2 of The Contractor Season is going on, so here it's a picture which it shows that I reached level 26 already. Don't know how important for you this aspect is, but I sort of get crazy in the games where I can customize the things I play with, as well as the character, so I do enjoy a lot every drop each level comes with, lol. πŸ˜ƒ

Oh, and don't forget that every Wednesday along with a new Live Summit being released, there are also added 3x weekly tasks in the Motorflix where if you complete all of them, you will get 6 levels further in The Contractor Season - Episode 2. So warm up those wheels and score new records! 😍

Were you taught by your teachers?

Hahaha what happens is that as you mentioned that your teachers taught you to be competitive, in my case my teachers didn't even teach me anything, they just told me about problems in their life lol

Oh, I get it now. Thanks for making some light, lol!
I mean, I had that kind of teachers too when they were only complying about their personal lives without really carrying about their students. But then there was also the other kind of teachers who always had claims that every student should be very good and have a lot of performances on all 12 disciplines learned. Which is sort of impossible. That's what I tried to explain through my comparison there that's also hard to be good on all the disciplines from a racing game πŸ˜ƒ
