Hello everyone, today I want to remind you of a video game that belonged to the group of games that marked my childhood, I'm talking about Def-Jam, the street fighting video game that allowed us to fight side by side and against hip-hop stars such as:

  • Ice-T
  • Sean Paul
  • Trejo
  • Fat Joe
  • Xzibit
  • Ludacris
  • WC
  • Carmen Electra
  • Snoop Dog

Just to mention a few, as the roster still has a total of 67 playable characters. Each of the fighters has certain skills, with different fighting styles such as Streetfighting, Kickboxing, Martial Arts, Wrestling and Submissions.

The game was available in some platforms like xbox, playstation 2 and gamecube, personally I enjoyed it a lot in my xbox and nowadays I play it in pc emulator to remember old times, what platform did you play it in?

For me who was then a little boy discovering and becoming more and more fascinated by the world of video games, the story mode was a novelty and a great game experience, I don't have the exact count of the times I played it but without a doubt I created several characters with different fighting styles.

Story Mode

To put in context, the game had a story mode in which you had to create a character, which began as a stranger who has to make a name for himself in New York, winning the fights you got money that you could spend on clothes, which also had licenses, as we could see clothes of recognized brands such as reebok, air jordan, among others, you could also spend your money on tattoos, haircuts and jewelry.

Additionally you could get development points to improve your character's stats and get new moves and even a new fighting style. As you progressed through the story and won fights you unlocked new playable characters to complete the roster since at the beginning there were only a few playable characters for casual fights.

One of the fights I enjoyed the most was against Fat Joe, since it is in a cage and for some strange reason I liked it a lot, this along with the final fight against Crow (Snoop Dog) are among my favorites, but it is worth remembering that the entire game is and will be one of my favorites.

For its novel and dynamic fights where we could dispose of objects in the environment of the stage, the different places and possibility of movements as the unforgettable Blazin, which was a state to which you arrived when your momentum indicator was filled, and being in this state you could perform a personal movement to make a KO.

Fuck this game was the best, I remember playing it on DS and it was brutal, it was very strange but at the same time good, especially when Snoop Dog was fighting hahaha.

This was one of the first ps 2 games I played, I remember playing it with my cousin when I was little, the fights seemed frenetic and I felt them super fluid (I never knew how to get the special power XDDDD) I recently played it on my ps2 but sadly I was stuck but the little I played at this age seemed just as fun as when I played with my cousin, good post bro it brought back good memories <3

the best game in the DFJam series, the rest is a failed attempt to continue, great post
