The Dreamcast was ahead of its time. It was such a great console. Hydro Thunder was my favorite game for it.

Hydro Thunder is plain awesome!

Water levels on platformers? Bad.
Water racers? Hell yeah!

I have to admit, I never got to play the dreamcast, I would've loved to though. I totally agree with you about the PS Vita though. It definitely should've done better than it did. It had sooo much potential 😥

Luckily Dreamcast emulators can run on potatos. There are many great games to check out if you ever have the time, bunch of long adventures but also bite-sized arcade fun in there.

The Vita was so good in every aspect man. Comfortable, great UI, nice UX, great library, even the online on it was good. I played tons of Sonic Racing Transformed and Killzone with friends, using voice chat in the Vita itself, something that the Switch for example doesn't even have!

That’s good to know actually, are there any games you recommend?

Man, there's a bunch. My favorite is the original Phantasy Star.
But check out SEGA Lord X's channel, his channel name sounds fanboyish but he's pretty objective and has tons of good recommendations.

I actually owned the PS Vita for a while. It was good and fun but it didn't really have any special games going for it. I played a bit of Rayman and FIFA and eventually just sold it as I stopped using it for the most part. A shame as it was quite powerful for its time.

The mainstream support for it wasn't great. But the few Sony exclusives it got were amazing games, such as Gravity Rush, Uncharted and the God of War collection.

It also had the great HD ports for Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3.
If you dig down just a couple of feet into its library, you'll see how much greatness there is in there.

The Japanese gave the console tons of support, and the amount of great indies for it is phenomenal.

You can find one for cheap nowadays and I recommend it a lot.

It got Persona 4 Golden way before the PC and that was the best way to play that game :D

An interesting selection of consoles, definitely cool to see someone highlight these buried gems that were lost to history, specially the SEGA consoles. Great post!

Gotta love SEGA.
I grew up with Nintendo and Sony at home and SEGA at my cousin's place, finally getting to experience all of it now is phenomenal.

Gaming history is really interesting and I do think all consoles have their merits, even if that is just being weird or bad.
