In my quest to find new strategies in Splinterlands I have found one that I found very fun to play and with which I have obtained very good results. In this guide we are going to explain how to use Spirit Hoarder together with creatures with the Taunt ability.
En mi búsqueda de nuevas estrategias en Splinterlands he encontrado una que me ha parecido muy divertida de jugar y con la que he obtenido muy buenos resultados. En esta guía vamos a explicar cómo utilizar Spirit Hoarder junto con criaturas con la habilidad de Taunt.
Let's talk about Spirit Hoarder
The Spirit Hoarder is a faceless creature aside from two large, yellow eyes. Its body is a deep green with tributaries of aqua blue running through its skin, converging into jagged dorsal vertebrae along its back, and the uneven ruts of its head almost look like broken wood jutting away from the otherwise smooth and serene outline of its body. The alien appearance of this creature makes it difficult to tell where it resided on its home world, and it is likely at some point in evolution its habitat was in water, but now it is clear that it makes its home on solid ground and is completely terrestrial.
El Spirit Hoarder es una criatura sin rostro, aparte de dos grandes ojos amarillos. Su cuerpo es de color verde intenso con afluentes de color azul aguamarina que atraviesan su piel, convergiendo en vértebras dorsales dentadas a lo largo de su espalda, y los surcos irregulares de su cabeza casi parecen madera rota que sobresale del contorno, por lo demás liso y sereno, de su cuerpo. El aspecto extraterrestre de esta criatura hace difícil saber dónde residía en su mundo natal, y es probable que en algún momento de la evolución su hábitat estuviera en el agua, pero ahora está claro que tiene su hogar en tierra firme y es completamente terrestre.
Spirit Hoarder is the last card that has been dealt with the Chaos Legion Airdrop of legendary rarity and belonging to the Splinter Neutral. It has a mana cost of 3 points and magic attack. Let's take a detailed look at its stats and abilities:

Level 1: Bronze League.
At this level the card is powerful enough and has the ability we are interested in called Triage that heals the creature in the second battle line that has suffered the most damage.
Nivel 1: Liga de Bronce.
En este nivel la carta es bastante potente y tiene la habilidad que nos interesa llamada Triage que cura a la criatura de la segunda línea de batalla que haya sufrido más daño.
Level 2: Silver League.
At level 2 you get the additional ability Dispel which removes the positive effects that the hit monster has.
Nivel 2: Liga de Plata.
A nivel 2 obtiene la habilidad adicional Dispel que elimina los efectos positivos que tiene el monstruo golpeado.
Level 3: Gold League.
At level 3 you gain the additional ability Blind which grants the enemy higher miss chance on melee or ranged attacks.

Level 4: Diamond League and Champion.

Triage ability
From the Spirit Hoarder we are interested in its Triage skill. We explain what it offers us:

The Triage ability is little known in Splinterlands and very few cards have it at low levels.
It heals the rear ally monster that has taken the most damage.
Healing is equal to the maximum health of the monster divided by 3, rounded down. The minimum healing is 2.
La habilidad Triage es poco conocida en Splinterlands y muy pocas cartas la tienen a niveles bajos.
Cura al monstruo aliado trasero que haya recibido más daño.
La curación es igual a la salud máxima del monstruo dividida por 3, redondeada hacia abajo. La curación mínima es de 2 puntos.
Taunt ability
This ability will allow us to concentrate all the maximum damage on certain creatures. We explain what the Taunt skill is:

All enemy Monsters target this Monster (if they are able to).

New cards with the Taunt ability in Chaos Legion
With the arrival of Chaos, many new cards with interesting and inexpensive abilities have appeared. This is the case of these two cards that we are going to use to make our combo:

Wave Brood
If our preferred Splinter is Water our card of choice will be Wave Brood. This card of Epic rarity, has 12 life points and one ranged attack point. A real tank that will last several turns before dying.
Si nuestro Splinter preferido es Agua, nuestra carta elegida será Wave Brood. Esta carta de rareza Épica, tiene 12 puntos de vida y un punto de ataque a distancia. Un verdadero tanque que durará varios turnos antes de morir.
As a summoner we can use Kelya Frendul and thus give more resistance to our creatures or Alric Stormbringer and use magical creatures.
Como invocador podemos usar Kelya Frendul y así dar más resistencia a nuestras criaturas o Alric Stormbringer y usar criaturas mágicas.
Mycelic Slipspawn
And if we prefer the Splinter Earth we will use Mycelic Slipspawn, a Rare card, easy to get, with 10 points of life and 2 points of magic attack.
Y si preferimos el Splinter Tierra usaremos Mycelic Slipspawn, una carta Rara, fácil de conseguir, con 10 puntos de vida y 2 puntos de ataque mágico.
The best option in this case is to use the summoner Obsidian and its +1 to magic attack since both Mycelic Slipspawn and Spirit Hoarder are creatures with magic attack.
La mejor opción en este caso es utilizar el invocador Obsidian y su +1 al ataque mágico ya que tanto Mycelic Slipspawn como Spirit Hoarder son criaturas con ataque mágico.
What is the goal?
The objective is simple, in last position we put Wave Brood or Mycelic Slipspawn to receive all the hits while our Spirit Hoarder heals him.
El objetivo es sencillo, en la última posición ponemos a Wave Brood o Mycelic Slipspawn para recibir todos los golpes mientras nuestro Spirit Hoarder lo cura.
We will place Spirit Hoarder next to our creature with Taunt.
Colocaremos Spirit Hoarder junto a nuestra criatura con Taunt.
As they are creatures of such resistance, the healing at level 1 for the Wave Brood will be of 4 points while for the Mycelic Slipspawn it will be of 3 points.
Al tratarse de criaturas con mucha resistencia, la curación a nivel 1 para el Wave Brood será de 4 puntos mientras que para el Mycelic Slipspawn será de 3 puntos.
In the other positions we must use creatures with sufficient attack power to try to reduce the greatest number of rival creatures.
En las demás posiciones debemos utilizar criaturas con suficiente poder de ataque para intentar reducir el mayor número de criaturas rivales.
There are other cards in Splinterlands with the Taunt ability, why don't you use them?
Yes, there are other cards with Taunt ability like Magnor, The Kraken, Shieldbearer and Dark Ha'on, but all of them have melee attack and will not be able to hit if they are not in the first position and our Spirit Hoarder would not be able to heal them.
Sí, hay otras cartas con capacidad de Taunt como Magnor, The Kraken, Shieldbearer y Dark Ha'on, pero todas ellas tienen ataque cuerpo a cuerpo y no podrán golpear si no están en la primera posición y nuestro Spirit Hoarder no podría curarlos.
Our goal is to use our combo and have as many creatures on the battlefield as possible to hit.

- Very important!when the battle condition is Blast or we think that the opponent is going to use a creature with this ability it is advisable not to put Spirit Hoarder together with our creature with Taunt or it will suffer adjacent damage.
- Using this combo with the Splinter Water gives us greater resistance while using it with the Splinter Earth gives us greater attack power.
