Since I really enjoyed Helldivers 2, several people recommended that I should give Arc Raiders a try.
The trailers and gameplay videos already looked pretty appealing to me, but I’m generally not a big fan of “soft PvP” or “optional PvP” — I much prefer knowing exactly who the enemy is from the start.
Because a friend of mine was also interested, we decided to pick it up together.
After a few hours of playtime, I can honestly say it’s been fun so far — even though it’s not exactly hilarious when you get shot by another player right at the extraction point ^^
That said, I don’t really understand the comparison with Helldivers 2.
Sure, the third-person perspective is similar, but the actual gameplay feels very different to me.
Missions are usually much shorter, there’s way more loot to collect, the fights feel significantly more tactical (though that might change once we’ve upgraded our weapons), and there’s an insane amount of crafting involved — I’ll be honest, I still haven’t fully wrapped my head around the crafting system yet.
In short: I’m having fun with Arc Raiders, but I personally don’t see the strong connection to Helldivers 2 that others keep mentioning.

Yes, now that you mention it, I don't think there's much of a connection either. I associate H2 with something more like Battlefront. ARC Players caught my eye when I saw it on Epic and considered buying it when it was on sale. I'll try to catch you streaming the game!
