In the world of video games we have different styles and types of games for all people and all tastes, from the most popular action games, adventure games to logic and graphic stories. This time I will comment on a game that I loved for its theme and Anime style which combines two of my favorite things Video Games and Anime, this game is Catherine which is mainly based on being a platform game with elements of logic and a graphic story with decision making very similar to the games of The Walking Dead. Catherine is a game which already has quite some time in reality since it was published in early 2011 so it is already 10 years old.

Catherine like all graphic story game presents us with different decision making which will have an impact on the development of the plot and change the attitude of the character and the end of the game, in fact Catherine has a lot of endings being a total of 7 which ensures that you will have many hours of games and many games to get all possible endings. En esta ocasión comentare sobre un juego que me encanto por su temática y estilo Anime lo cual combina dos de mis cosas preferidas los Videojuegos y el Anime, este juego se trata de Catherine el cual principalmente se basa en ser un juego de plataformas con elementos de Lógica y una historia grafica con toma de decisiones muy similar a los Juegos de The Walking Dead. Catherine es un juego el cual ya tiene bastante tiempo en realidad ya que fue publicado a principios del año 2011 por lo cual ya va para sus 10 años.

Catherine al igual que todo juego de historias graficas nos presenta diferentes tomas de decisiones las cuales tendrán repercusión en el desarrollo de la trama y cambiara la actitud del personaje así como el final del juego, de hecho Catherine tiene una gran cantidad de finales siendo un total de 7 lo cual te asegura que tendrás muchas horas de juegos y muchas partidas para poder conseguir todos los finales posibles. Del mismo modo las tomas de decisiones en este juego no serán como a las que más estamos acostumbrados que suceden en medio de las cinemáticas y que tenemos tiempo limitado para escoger, en vez de eso las cinemáticas son producto de tus decisiones pasadas y al momento de tomar las diferentes decisiones será por medio de un mensaje de texto que envía el protagonista desde su celular y charlas con amigos y conocidos en un bar por lo cual contaremos con todo el tiempo para escoger las decisiones y mensajes que más nos guste o más se asemeje al final que estemos buscando.

La historia se basa en 3 personajes siendo Vincent el principal y de quien tendremos el control, Catherine una joven muchacha que llega a la vida de Vincent y Katherine su amiga de la infancia y novia la cual está pensando en dar el siguiente paso y casarse con Vincent. La toma de decisiones afectara a la moralidad de Vincent ya que con las mismas decidiremos como debería actuar, seguir siéndole fiel a su novia y casarse con ella o decidir serle infiel con Catherine y cambiarla por la misma. La parte de los Puzzle con plataformas será todo en los sueños de Vincent y donde la temática será ir escalando por una pared vertical de bloques cuadramos los cuales podremos mover, desplazar y empujar para crear un camino que nos permita ascender hasta la cima y superar el nivel. En cada noche en los sueños de Vincent avanzaremos por una zona diferente donde la misma cuenta con diferentes muros a escalar y siendo el ultimo el más complicado ya que no solo tendremos que escalar a contra reloj mientras los bloques inferiores se caen, además nos perseguirá un demonio o criatura tétrica que realizar ataques los cuales tienen diferentes efectos y nos dificulta más el ascender.

Una de las principales mecánicas de este juego la cual resulta muy llamativa e incluso algo complicada de entender en un principio es la gravedad y funcionalidad de los bloques. Mientras el bloque este tocando los bordes de otro bloque este no se caerá al vacío por más que no tenga nada debajo de él y la forma en que los mismos caen cuando no tienen nada por debajo ni están tocando ninguna borde resulta algo confusa y te puede costar un poco percibir como será la reacción en cadena producto de arrojar un bloque al vacío. También tienes que utilizar mucho esta mecánica para crear puentes y logar sortear zonas, además puedes empujar varios bloques a la vez lo cual permite mover filas enteras y contamos con diferentes objetos que nos ayudaran como lo son poder crear un bloque donde queramos, eliminar a todos los corderos que están escalando junto con nosotros ya que ellos nos estarán empujando y bloqueando el camino a medida de ascendemos. Una de las pocas críticas es que el control del personaje algunas veces resulta confuso ya que al ser una perspectiva en 2D y el personaje poder moverse en 3D resulta en momentos donde al estar por la parte de atrás de los bloques el movimientos no es cómo quieres y hasta es invertido el control.

Por lo demás es un juego muy divertido que te presentara buenos desafíos donde deberás pensar mucho e intentar una y otra vez hasta resolver el Puzzle además que pondrá a juego tu moral sobre los temas que afronta el personaje y todo esto con una temática de Anime fantástica y adictiva. Este juego conto con un relanzamiento en versión extendida a principios del año 2019 titulado: Catherine Full Body el cual incluyo una gran cantidad de contenido adicional como mecánicas, nuevas historias y desarrollos en la trama e incluso la inclusión de Rin una nueva protagonista de la historia.
