In May, Splinterlands celebrates its anniversary. It's been 6 years bringing good profits to all its players, as well as fun to Trading Card Game lovers.
My journey with this incredible game began in 2021, at the time of the NFT explosion. What motivated me to play at the time was the ease with which you could create an account and be ready to battle in a few minutes, unlike other games, which also required an initial investment. You do need to spend a few dollars to buy the Spellbook and rent cards to start your adventure in Splinterlands, but you can try it out to see what you think before you take any action.
I took a liking to the game, and within a few months I had already recouped my entire investment, even playing in the lower leagues. So it became something of a routine in my life, spending at least an hour a day battling in the ranks.
I loved analyzing matches in search of "magic" strategies that would win every battle. I've never been a fan of card games, so I wasn't aware that things weren't quite like that. In any case, it's true to say that at the time it was even common for there to be cards that were far superior to others, since the diversity was much less than it is today.

I consider my evolution to have been slow, because I saw what the battles were like in the higher leagues (Gold above), and all those rules and skills seemed very complex and difficult to me. However, it was something exponential, where I stayed in Bronze/Silver for almost 2 years, and jumped from Gold to Champion in less than a year. I had realized that Splinterlands wasn't as difficult as I expected, and that was one of the reasons I reached the highest levels of the game.
Nowadays, I usually end the season in the Champion league, and I get good results playing Brawls in the Diamond Frays.
The game has evolved a lot in these 6 years, bringing several things that I consider positive, others not so much. Like any company, mistakes are made and they must be corrected as soon as possible to prevent things getting out of hand and bankruptcy being inevitable. I see that the Splinterlands team needs to improve the experience for beginner players, as things are no longer the same as they were years ago. The release of bots in Wild mode was something that I think made it difficult to take action, since if you benefit players who play manually, you may end up favoring those who automate the process.
There are currently two game modes, Modern and Wild. The first prohibits the use of bots, but limits the use of cards to the last two collections. The second, on the other hand, allows bots to be used, and all cards are free.
I think bringing in a third game mode in rankeds, preventing the use of bots, as in Modern, would be an interesting alternative. Cards from older collections can only be used in Wild, where you find a massive number of players who automate their play, causing discouragement for long-time players.
A player once suggested, during conversations in the HIVE BR Guild, the implementation of a third mode where each day 2 card collections would be allowed, and the others banned. It's an idea that would bring an interesting dynamic, favoring all players. In addition, the Starter cards, which are made available free of charge, should also be present, according to the collection available that day. That way, all players would feel invited to play again, without exception.

No mês de Maio, o Splinterlands comemora o seu aniversário. São 6 anos trazendo bons lucros a todos os seus jogadores, além de diversão aos amantes de Trading Card Games.
Minha jornada nesse incrível jogo, começou em 2021, na época em que houve a explosão dos NFTs. O que havia me motivado a jogá-lo na época, era a facilidade em criar uma conta e em poucos minutos estar pronto para batalhar, diferente dos demais jogos, que também exigiam um investimento inicial. É realmente necessário gastar alguns dólares para comprar o Spellbook, e alugar cartas para iniciar sua aventura em Splinterlands, porém você pode testá-lo para ver o que acha, antes de tomar qualquer atitude.
Fui tomando gosto pelo jogo, e em poucos meses já havia recuperado todo o meu investimento, mesmo jogando nas ligas mais baixas. Então se tornou algo rotineiro em minha vida, gastando pelo menos 1 hora por dia batalhando nas ranqueadas.
Eu gostava muito de analisar as partidas em busca de estratégias "mágicas", que venciam todas as batalhas. Nunca fui um fã de jogos de cartas, então não tinha ciência de que as coisas não eram bem assim. De qualquer forma, é verdadeiro dizer que na época era até comum existir cartas muito superiores a outras, já que a diversidade era bem inferior ao que é hoje.

Considero minha evolução lenta, pois eu via como eram as batalhas nas ligas altas(Ouro acima), e todo aquele conjunto de regras e habilidades parecia algo muito complexo e difícil para mim. No entanto, foi algo exponencial, onde fiquei no Bronze/Prata por quase 2 anos, e saltei do Ouro para o Champion em menos de um ano. Eu havia percebido que o Splinterlands não era um bicho de 7 cabeças, e foi esse um dos motivos que me fez chegar aos patamares mais altos do jogo.
Atualmente, costumo encerrar a temporada na liga Champion, e consigo bons resultados disputado os Brawls nas Frays Diamante.
O jogo evoluiu bastante nesses 6 anos, trazendo diversas coisas que considero positivas, outras nem tanto. Como toda empresa, erros são cometidos e eles devem ser corrigidos o quanto antes, para evitar que as coisas saiam do controle e a falência seja inevitável. Vejo que a equipe do Splinterlands precisa melhorar a experiência para os jogadores iniciantes, já que as coisas não são mais como anos atrás. A liberação no uso de Bots no modo Wild, foi uma coisa que ao meu ver tenha dificultado algumas ações a serem tomadas, já que se você beneficiar jogadores que jogam de forma manual, pode acabar favorecendo aqueles que automatizam esse processo.
Atualmente, existem dois modos de jogo, Modern e Wild. O primeiro, proíbe o uso de bots, mas limita o uso de cartas as últimas duas coleções. Já o segundo, permite que bots sejam usados, além de todas as cartas estarem liberadas.
Acredito que trazer um terceiro modo de jogo nas ranqueadas, impedindo o uso de Bots, assim como no modo Moderno, seja uma alternativa interessante. As cartas de coleções mais antigas só podem ser utilizadas no Wild, onde você encontra uma quantidade massiva de jogadores que automatizam sua jogatina, causando um desânimo aos jogadores de longa data.
Um jogador sugeriu uma vez, durante conversas na Guild HIVE BR, a implementação de um terceiro modo onde cada dia seriam permitidas 2 coleções de cartas, e as outras banidas. É uma ideia que traria uma dinâmica interessante, favorecendo todos os jogadores. Além disso, as cartas Starter, que são disponibilizadas grauitamente, deveriam estar presentes também, de acordo com a coleção disponível no dia. Dessa forma, todos os jogadores se sentiriam convidados a jogar novamente, sem exceções.
