Age of Empires is a series of real-time strategy games, the game was developed by Ensemble Studios, a Texas-based video game development studio founded by Tony Goodman, Rick Goodman and Bruce Shelley in 1995 and published by Microsoft.
The first game in the series, Age of Empires, was released in 1997 and marked the beginning of a franchise that has become a benchmark in the strategy genre.

Although I haven't played this particular game, I've played games very similar to this and to be honest they are usually very nice and addictive...the series of progress from 1997, down to present is actually very impressive too
This was a game that made an impact the year it came out because of the novelty of the settings and the action.

One of the first games I played as a child, I spent hours making different civilizations fight, unbelievable that so much time passed.
In my case it was the first strategy game I dared to play and it didn't go very well.
