👋 Greetings, folks from #Hivegaming! After quite some time without being able to play (my PC was out of action and believe me, the wait felt eternal), I finally managed to return to one of those titles that has me completely hooked: Hades II. You can’t imagine the joy I felt seeing that start screen again. Coming back to this dark world, full of detail and with a story that grabs you from the very first moment, felt like reuniting with something that had already become part of my routine. Even though I didn’t progress much this time, the experience was worth every minute.

Después de un buen tiempo sin poder jugar (mi PC estuvo fuera de combate y créanme que la espera se sintió eterna), por fin pude volver a uno de esos títulos que me tienen completamente atrapado: Hades II. No saben la alegría que me dio ver de nuevo esa pantalla de inicio. Volver a este mundo oscuro, lleno de detalles y con una historia que engancha desde el primer segundo, se sintió como reencontrarme con algo que ya era parte de mi rutina. Aunque avancé poco esta vez, la experiencia valió cada minuto.

The first thing I came across again was the cauldron. And here I have to pause—what an amazing mechanic! In the first game, I already found it clever, but now it’s been taken to a whole new level. Preparing recipes not only gives you advantages to move better or survive in this shadow-filled world, but it also makes every run feel different. Some recipes boost your character, while others make enemies suffer in very creative ways. I love how the game brings back that classic image of witches with their cauldrons and potions, but translated into a video game with so much style.

Lo primero que me reencontré fue el caldero. Y aquí tengo que detenerme ¡qué maravilla de mecánica! En la primera entrega ya me parecían ingenioso, pero ahora tiene una dimensión que sorprende. Preparar recetas no solo te da ventajas para moverte mejor o sobrevivir en este mundo lleno de sombras, sino que también convierte cada partida en una experiencia distinta. Hay recetas que potencian al personaje y otras que hacen sufrir a los enemigos de maneras muy creativas. Me encanta cómo rescatan esa imagen clásica de las brujas, con sus calderos y pócimas, pero llevada a un videojuego con tanto estilo.

In this session, I also managed to unlock more memories, which are basically those rings that grant you upgrades. Each one has amazing abilities, and honestly, it hurts a little to have to choose just one. Some of the ones I got today were so good that I wished I could use them all at once. In the end, that limitation makes every decision carry more weight and forces you to think carefully before diving into the adventure.

En esta sesión también logré desbloquear más recuerdos, que básicamente son esos anillos que te otorgan mejoras. Cada uno tiene habilidades increíbles y la verdad es que duele un poco tener que escoger solo uno. Algunos de los que conseguí hoy eran tan buenos que me daban ganas de usarlos todos al mismo tiempo. Al final, esa limitación hace que cada decisión pese más, y que tengas que pensar con cuidado antes de lanzarte a la aventura.

With those new tools, I felt confident enough to keep moving forward. I tried out different attacks, adapted a bit more to the game’s rhythm, and set my sights on defeating the Mistress. The path to her was anything but easy: every room was a challenge, with tougher enemies, traps, and situations that forced me to stay at 100%. But that’s exactly what I love about Hades II—it never lets you go on autopilot, it always demands the best from you.

Con esas herramientas nuevas me sentí con la confianza de seguir adelante. Probé ataques diferentes, me adapté un poco más al ritmo del juego y me propuse superar a la Maestra. El camino hasta llegar a ella fue todo menos sencillo: cada sala era un reto, enemigos más duros, trampas y situaciones que te obligan a estar al 100%. Pero eso es justo lo que me gusta de Hades II, nunca te deja en piloto automático, siempre exige lo mejor de ti.

When I finally reached the showdown, everything turned into pure adrenaline. It was one of those battles that makes your hands sweat on the keyboard. At times, I thought I was going to have to start all over again, but that’s where the magic of this game lies: just when it seems like you’re done for, you find a way to hold on a little longer. With precise dodges, carefully timed attacks, and making the most of all the upgrades I had gathered, I managed to defeat the Mistress.

Cuando por fin llegué al enfrentamiento, todo se volvió pura adrenalina. Fue de esas batallas que te hacen sudar las manos en el teclado. Por momentos pensé que me iba a tocar empezar de nuevo, pero ahí está la magia de este juego: justo cuando parece que estás perdido, encuentras la manera de resistir un poco más. Con esquives ajustados, ataques bien medidos y aprovechando todas las mejoras que había juntado, logré derrotar a la Maestra.

The feeling when I did it was incredible. That mix of relief, excitement, and pride that only a good roguelike can give you. I felt like everything I had discovered in the cauldron, the memories, and the small decisions I made during the run came together perfectly. It was as if the game had been preparing me little by little for that moment. And yes, I passed the first big trial and managed to clear the first world.

La sensación al hacerlo fue brutal. Esa mezcla de alivio, emoción y orgullo que solo un buen roguelike te puede dar. Sentí que todo lo que había descubierto en el caldero, los recuerdos y las pequeñas decisiones durante la partida encajaron de manera perfecta. Como si el juego me hubiera estado preparando poco a poco para ese momento. Y sí, pasé la primera gran prueba y logré superar el primer mundo.

Now I’m left with the big question: what comes next? I know Hades never settles for repeating itself—there’s always something new waiting behind every door. Every defeat is a lesson, and every victory is the push I need to keep exploring.

Ahora solo me queda la intriga: ¿qué viene después? Sé que Hades no se conforma con repetirse, que siempre hay algo nuevo esperándome detrás de cada puerta. Cada derrota es una enseñanza, cada victoria un impulso para seguir explorando.
