Welcome Calderians!
Today I will be joining one of the new initiatives driven by the Crownrend team. It is a social media event that aims to answer the following questions:
- What is Crownrend (for novices)
- How did you start this journey? Where did you see the Crownrend game, in the announcement post?
- What is your favorite and least favorite thing about Crownrend?
- What is your goal for your kingdom?
What is Crownrend?
Crownrend is an online strategy game, which progresses progressively and requires little player interaction. You will take control of a small kingdom in Calderan, a region ravaged by constant wars, with the objective of strengthening your kingdom by improving its production or plundering vulnerable kingdoms to get your hands on their loot.
You start as a humble village and, as you advance, you will become one of the most powerful kingdoms in Calderan.
How did you start this journey?
I don't exactly remember how I discovered Crownrend. I think it was thanks to a friend who had sent me a post announcing the game, a week after its release.
So I did some research on the game. I liked the simplicity of the gameplay and that it wouldn't take me that long to play. Besides, I'm a fan of all things medieval, so that alone had me hooked. The same day I found out about the game, I didn't hesitate to pay the $10 entry fee at Hive and begin my Crownrend journey. From the very beginning, I don't think I missed a single claim. I used the DENAR I earned to improve my Army Strength, Army Toughness, and Tax Efficiency stats. I've also made a post where I discuss my first steps.
During the first two days, I was so hooked on the game that I decided to invite three friends: @koizu, @ydaiznfts, and @maurojd, thus adding my first referrals. I also took advantage of one of the initiatives launched by the Crownrend team where we were supposed to do an extensive tutorial on the game's mechanics.
I remember researching everything about the game's logic and making a summary of all the gameplay mechanics up to that point, managing to win second place in the contest. Doing that tutorial also helped me learn new strategies to keep progressing in the game. In case anyone is interested, here is the link to the post.
The tutorial also allowed me to add three more referrals, so I consider it to have been of great use to the community.
Since the launch of Crownrend, I have been very active, either opening chests or improving the stats of my armada and domain.
What is your favorite and least favorite thing about Crownrend?
I have prepared a list of the things I like best about Crownrend:
Its simplicity, it is a fairly simple game to learn to play and it only requires a few minutes a day, allowing me to play it every day.
The game uses websockets, which allows real-time communication between the server and the client. Thanks to this, all interaction in the game is extremely fast and fluid, so we avoid loading times or having to restart the page when doing certain actions.
The new alliance system looks pretty good. Maybe I missed to add more methods to measure who wins a battle, but it's good.
The new Crownrend chest price system. Before when the token decreased a bit in value, people were opening a lot of chests every day, flooding the market with them. Now every 10 chests that are opened, their price increases by 100 DENAR. Which I think is positive in the long term for the game.
Battles not only depend on stats, but also on chance. Each attack is resolved by a dice roll, which can result in being intercepted, getting more or less loot, or even the possibility of a critical hit.
That has been a summary of most of the things I like about Crownrend. Now it's on to the worst things:
- - It may seem contradictory, but the fact that the game is so simple and practically a clicker means there's a lot of bots. These have a rather negative effect on the game, as their only intention is to drain the main token to gain profit.
- - When attacking to claim something, you sometimes fail to claim everything because, while scrolling and attacking, you get looted and lose a considerable amount of DENAR.
What is your goal for your kingdom?
My main goal is to keep growing in the game, I am currently in the 64th position of the ranking with 1600 Kingdom Power. I have improved a lot my stats of armor and dominance. Achieving a good looting and defense with an effective production.
I have collected some HIVE to buy items to improve my trade power, which combined with good mastery stats, the realm's DENAR production becomes massive. I have also invested in buying chests, where I have obtained an Ancient item.
Another thing I have planned for the future is to improve my alliance. About a month ago, with @ydaiznfts we split expenses in ORI to found our own alliance. Now that they implemented new mechanics for alliances, I think I will dedicate a lot of time to form a competitive alliance, with the goal of obtaining Crowns and taking advantage of the bonuses we can acquire with them.

Good progress. I definitely recommend focusing on items with toughness, trade power and tax as the 3 best stats... unless you can afford mine level. That's obviously the best Stat by a large margin. Good luck to you and your alliance!
