Es uno de los mejores juegos de estrategia de toda la historia, desarrollado por Ensemble Studios y distribuido por Microsoft Games para PC y luego Konami lanzó un versión para PS2 que no fue tan buena como se esperaba, llegó al mercado en 1999 y a pesar de ser un juego tan viejo hay personas que un lo juegan online, fue uno de los juegos que más disfrute jugar junto a mis amigos por el gran modo multijugador que tiene.

Este grandioso juego tiene una gran variedad de funciones, desde las distintas civilizaciones hasta el gran número de edificios que puedes construir, en este juego el jugador debe construir su civilización comenzando con 4 aldeanos y con ellos busca recursos para ir avanzando en el juego, que se necesita para construir edificios y unidades militares, con el fin de defender la aldea o atacar otras.

En el transcurso del juego se avanza a distintas edades como son: Alta Edad Media, Edad Feudal, Edad de los Castillos y Edad Imperial, en cada edad hay diferentes mejoras para los edificios y tropas, como también hay más edificios que construir. Una de las cosas que más me gusta de este juego es que dependiendo de la civilización que escojas el diseño de las construcciones cambia, algunas de las civilizaciones son: Chinos, Persas, Vikingos, Ingleses y muchos más.

Los recursos en el juego son muy importantes son la base para avanzar en la civilización, se encuentran en lo largo y ancho del mapa, se obtienen a través de los aldeanos, los recursos son: alimentos, oro, piedra y madera. En el juego existe el comercio, donde se pueden intercambiar recursos en el mercado.

El juego además de contar con el modo multijugador tiene un modo campaña, en el que cuenta con una historia donde se lidera una civilización con Juana de Arco, este modo se puede usar para aprender más sobre el juego, ya que, cada campaña hay desafíos diferentes que afrontar y son de muy buena ayuda para aprender bastante la funcionalidad del juego.

Este es un grandioso juego que realmente recomiendo, es un juego muy completo y pueden divertirse junto a sus amigos por bastante tiempo. Aun espero que salga un juego nuevo de la saga, en 2017 anunció Microsoft que habría un cuarto juego, estoy seguro que la mayoría de los gamers quisieran jugarlo.
