Jotum is a game that Epic games gave away a few months ago, an indie game with a Viking theme, but let's go straight to the question: Is it worth playing?

How are you gamers? I'm Nitsu and long before epic gave away this fantastic game I had already had the opportunity to try it, I found it by chance and I don't regret having played it again.

The story and objectives are simple, we as players control Thora a Viking warrior who dies in a storm at sea and being an unworthy death must prove to the gods that she is worthy to enter the Valhalla, the known Viking heaven. The dialogues and the story we are told in the various worlds that we must travel through the branches of the tree of yggdrasil worlds.
La historia y objetivos son sencillos, nosotros como jugadores controlamos a Thora una guerrera vikinga que muere en una tormenta en el mar y al ser una muerte no digna debe demostrar ante los dioses que es digna para poder ingresar al Valhala, el conocido cielo vikingo. Los diálogos y la historia que nos cuentan en los diversos mundos que debemos recorrer a través de las ramas del árbol de los mundos yggdrasil.

The gameplay is easy, I played it with keyboard and I found it comfortable, what do I mean by easy? I mean that we have a section of exploration of fighting bosses, rarely find difficult enemies to overcome on the map as exploration is more than anything solve puzzles to pass or unlock areas, this is a game that rewards exploration because if we find some golden apples we will improve life and for each world traveled we can get a skill upgrade or a new skill.
La jugabilidad es fácil, yo lo jugué con teclado y me resulto cómodo ¿Qué quiero decir con que es fácil? Quiero decir que contamos con un apartado de exploración de pelea contra jefes, en muy pocas ocasiones encontraremos enemigos difíciles de superar en el mapa ya que la exploración es mas que nada resolver puzles para pasar o desbloquear zonas, este es un juego que premia la exploración debido a que si encontramos unas manzanas doradas nos mejoraran la vida y por cada mundo recorrido podremos obtener una mejora de habilidad o una habilidad nueva.

Having an isometric view makes the gameplay feel fluid and we can enjoy the excellent art of the environment and get to see areas of interest. Just to clarify, all the art in the game was handmade, I think it's crazy what they achieved.
Al tener una vista isométrica el gameplay se siente fluido además que podremos disfrutar del excelente arte del entorno y lograr ver zonas de interés. Solo para aclarar, todo el arte del juego fue hecho a mano, me parece una locura lo que lograron.
The skills that we can unlock are speed, healing, damage by generating an electric hammer and the ability to create shadows to distract our enemies. The game mechanics are focused on dodging attacks, a basic attack and a charged attack that we will have to know when to use because it takes a long time to perform, but if we hit it will generate enormous damage to our opponent.
Las habilidades que podremos desbloquear son velocidad, curación, daño al generar un martillo eléctrico y la posibilidad de crear sombras para distraer a nuestros enemigos. Las mecánicas de juego se centran en esquivar ataques, un ataque básico y uno cargado que tendremos que saber cuando usar porque tarda mucho tiempo en realizarse, pero si lo asestamos generara un daño enorme a nuestro rival.
It's time to talk about the enemies, as I mentioned before in a few maps we will find enemies on the route but the bosses against which we will fight are difficult, with very entertaining mechanics and attack animations that will make us feel that we are fighting side by side with our Viking warrior Thora, we will feel the need to prove to the gods that is worthy of a space in Valhalla and even if we fail again and again and again fighting with them we can take a break and continue to defeat each area boss.
Es hora de hablar de los enemigos, como mencione antes en contados mapas encontraremos enemigos en el recorrido pero los jefes contra los que pelearemos son difíciles, con mecánicas muy entretenidas y unas animaciones de ataque que nos harán sentir que estamos luchando codo a codo con nuestra guerrera vikinga Thora, vamos a sentir la necesidad de demostrarle a los dioses que es digna de un espacio en el Valhala y por más que fracasemos una y otra y otra vez luchando con ellos podremos tomarnos un respiro y continuar hasta derrotar a cada jefe de zona.

El estilo de vista aérea a veces nos dificultara el hecho de investigar zonas por problemas de perspectiva de la misma forma cuando estemos luchando contra enemigos gigantes el posicionamiento puede ser dificultoso a la hora de esquivar y asestar golpes así que puede ser que mas de una vez perdamos por estos detalles.
Once we get the rune of the area we unlock the boss and we will have to go to fight, this first boss has a very original animation at the beginning, it has a simple pattern of attacks, but while we take life from him he changes some attacks or accelerating them personally this makes my pulse quicken because I do not want to lose by a mistake less when my enemy is with so little life. I've lost several times when the boss was only one hit away and it's frustrating.
Una vez obtenemos la runa de la zona desbloqueamos al jefe y tendremos que ir a luchar, este primer jefe tiene una animación muy original de entrada, tiene un patrón de ataques sencillo, pero mientras le quitamos vida va cambiando algunos ataques o acelerándolos personalmente esto a mi logra acelerarme el pulso porque no quiero perder por un error menos cuando mi enemigo esta con tan poca vida. Me paso de perder varias veces cuando el jefe solo estaba a un golpe y es frustrante.

Jotum is a great game, it is not very long and we will be able to kill several very original bosses that you will surely remember for several years. Having it for free in Epic's library I think it's more than enough to try it, give a little chance to a not very well known game and learn much more about the fantastic Norse mythology.
Jotum es un gran juego, no es muy largo y podremos matar varios jefes muy originales que seguramente recordaras por varios años. Al tenerlo gratis en la biblioteca de Epic me parece más que suficiente para probarlo, darle una pequeña oportunidad a un juego no muy conocido y conocer mucho más sobre la fantástica mitología nórdica.
