This is the summary of what may have been a long list of worlds and lives lived within the vast universe of video games, universe of which I was part, I am and that until the end of my days I will surely be part.
Este es el resúmen de lo que puede haber sido una larga lista de mundos y vidas vividas dentro del vasto universo de los videojuegos, universo del que fui parte, soy y que hasta el final de mis días seguramente seré parte.
All because since I can remember video games have been in my life in one way or another, from a simple pong bouncing, an almost endless series of pieces of tetris falling, to the rescue of princesses and damsels in distress; to think about my beginnings and life inside video games is to open the window to an endless number of adventures, stories and worlds that would not reach a few moons around a table to narrate all the adventures lived (and those to come!).
Todo porque desde que tengo uso de razón los videojuegos han estado en mi vida de una u otra manera, desde un simple pong rebotando, una casi interminable serie de piezas de tetris cayendo, hasta el rescate de princesas y damiselas en apuros; pensar en mis inicios y vida dentro de los videojuegos es abrir la ventana a un sin fin de aventuras, historias y mundos que no alcanzarían pocas lunas alrededor de una mesa para narrar todas las aventuras vividas (¡y las que vendrán!).
Since I was very young, as I mentioned before, games encouraged part of my life, sometimes my only company in days that seemed eternal, at other times they were a meeting point for the children of the area, either commenting and boasting about personal achievements and who would have finished a certain level of Megaman in NES (that is, it was the first consonant I had) or, competing in some fighting game like Mortal Kombat or long before, in baseball, wrestling or even in Mario kart.
Desde muy joven, como lo mencioné antes, los juegos fomaron parte de mi vida, en algunos momentos mi única compañía en días que parecían eternos, en otros momentos resultaban en centro de reunión para los chiquillos de la zona, bien comentando y presumiendo de los logros personales y quien habría terminado cierto nivel de Megaman en la NES (que dicho sea, fue la primera consóla que tuve) o bien, compitiendo en algún juego de peleas como el Mortal Kombat o mucho tiempo antes, en el baseball, la lucha libre o incluso en el Mario kart
Besides, there was a click when I first bought a "Club Nintendo", a magazine specialized in the well-known brand, to which a part of my heart has always belonged.
With those magazines I felt that I could almost play all the games that I could not have from the Snes or the Gameboy; oh and how to forget when they talked about that console that was being created and would revolutionize the world of video games, "Ultra 64" was the name of the project that ended up being called Nintendo 64.
Además, hubo un click cuando por primera vez compré una "Club Nintendo", revista especializada en la conocida marca, a la que siempre le ha pertenecido una parte de mi corazón.
Con esas revistas sentía que casi podía jugar todos los juegos que no podía tener de la Snes o del Gameboy; oh y como olvidar cuando hablaban de esa consola que se estaba creando y revolucionaría el mundo de los videojuegos, "Ultra 64" era el nombre del proyecto que terminó llamándose Nintendo 64.
Worlds where my mind was lost
It would be impossible for me to mention only one game that brings back beautiful memories, unforgettable moments or stirs my heart, however there is one in particular, which comes out of the action of the shots, of the murders left and right.
This game, which even generates more emotions than running through the desolate and gloomy streets of Silent Hill with the constant and imminent certainty that something will jump out at the least thoughtful moment and make me drown out a scream; more than looking up an English dictionary, resorting to old music lessons to decipher the mystery of the piano, is none other than The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time.
Mundos en los que mi mente se perdió
Me sería imposible mencionar sólo un juego que me traiga lindos recuerdos, momentos inolvidables o me agite el corazón, sin embargo hay uno en especial, que sale de la acción de los disparos, de los asesinatos a diestra y siniestra. Este juego, que incluso me genera más emociones que correr por las desoladas y tétricas calles de Silent Hill con la constante e inminente certeza de que algo saltará en el momento menos pensado y hará que ahogue un grito; más que buscar un diccionario de inglés, recurrir a viejas clases de música para descifrar el misterio del piano, no es otro que The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time.
I feel that it was so many lives ago that I first controlled Link in an 8-bit world, where I didn't know which way to go, nor where I came from alone that I had to keep going, find objects (because "it's dangerous to go alone") that would help me defeat the evil that was falling on that land unknown to me. With the passing of the years I got my hands on Nintendo 64 and a few months later on Zelda, Ocarina of Time.
Siento que fueron hace tantas vidas que por primera vez controlé a Link en un mundo mundo a 8 bits, donde no sabía que rumbo tomar, ni de donde venía solo que debía seguir adelante, encontrar objetos (porque "es peligroso ir solo") que me ayudaran a derrotar al mal que caía sobre esa tierra desconocida para mi. Con el pasar de los años llegó a mis manos la Nintendo 64 y pocos meses después el Zelda, Ocarina of Time.
In the land of Hyrule I could get lost for hours and hours, leaving aside exploration or missions to be completed, for the simple pleasure of watching time pass, sitting and listening to the sounds of nature at dawn and the change of climate, until a shuddering sunset. Guiding a young Link who is accompanied by his inseparable fairy Navi or being already in another era within the game, I could ride through those extensive fields on Epona, his faithful corcel.
En la tierra de Hyrule podía perderme horas y horas, dejando de lado la exploración o las misiones por completar, por el simple gusto de ver el tiempo pasar, sentarme a escuchar los sonidos de la naturaleza en un amanecer y el cambio de clima, hasta un estremecedor atardecer. Guiando a un joven Link que le acompaña su inseparable hada Navi o estando ya en otra época dentro del juego, podía cavalgar por esos extensos campos sobre Epona, su fiel corcél.
As we already know music plays a very important role in the emotions, this is how the music in this game marked me in such a way that I have its OST in my phone and eventually I listen to it, remembering moments of peace, of adventure, of a certain FREEDOM, that Zelda gave me.
Como Ya sabemos la música juega un papel importantísimo en las emociones, así es como la música en este juego me marcó de tal forma que cuento con su OST en mi teléfono y eventualmente la escucho, recordando así momentos de paz, de aventura, de cierta LIBERTAD, que Zelda me dio.
Remembering adventures is remembering companions
That's right, to remember some of the hundreds of adventures lived in online games, when I finally could connect massively with more players, is to remember Ragnarok Online; after all it was the first MMORPG that really caught me, I played it for several years and there I met those who finally would be my true companions of adventures within the games.

Así es, recordar algunas de las cientos de aventuras vividas en los juegos online, cuando por fin pude conectar de forma masiva con más jugadores, es recordar a Ragnarok Online; después de todo fue el primer MMORPG que de verdad me atrapó, lo jugué por varios años y allí conocí a los que finalmente serían mis verdaderos compañeros de andanzas en el mundo de las aventuras dentro de los juegos.
This kind of games is the proof that video games are no longer the excuse that many people use to isolate themselves and stop relating to other people or to not have friendships.
Este tipo de juegos es la prueba de que los videojuegos ya no son la excusa que muchos ponen para aislarse y dejar de relacionarse con otras persoas o para no tener amistades ¡Hasta yo pude hacer amistades!
Walking through the streets of Prontera, the capital city in RO and getting lost from one quest to another was stressful, yes, but it also made your mind fly. You could go from one map to another and if you found friends to organize your party, wow... the fun was multiplied.
Recorrer las calles de Prontera, la ciudad capital en RO y perderse de una quest a otra era algo estresante, sí, pero también te hacía volar la mente. Podías ir de un mapa a otro y si encontrabas amigos para organizar tu Party, wow.. la diversión se multiplicaba.
From Ragnarok Online I met several friends with whom I still have contact despite the distances, some of them met their current life partners and so their adventures continue, crossing that "little game" of so cute characters, full of magic powers and "big chickens that ride" that are not chocobos.
De Ragnarok Online conocí varios amigos con los que aún tengo contacto a pesar de las distancias, algunos de ellos conocieron a sus actuales parejas de vida y así sus aventuras continúan, traspasando ese "jueguito" de personajes tan lindos, lleno poderes mágicos y "pollos grandes que se cabalgan" que no son chocobos.
The unforgettable Guild wars inside Ragnarok, could be in essence very similar to any guild war in a mmorpg, different groups fighting to conquer the castle or enemy base, it's true. However, I will never forget moments when I went with my small group of friends, to the center of the battle, surrounded by enemies, being so harmless that we managed to infiltrate the castle and leave "alive" to laugh at everything.
Las inolvidables Guild wars dentro de Ragnarok, podían ser en esencia muy similares a cualquier guerra de gremios en un mmorpg, diferentes grupos batallando por conquistar el castillo o base enemiga, es verdad. Sin embargo, nunca olvidaré momentos en que me fui con mi reducido grupo de amigos, al centro de la batalla, rodeados de enemigos, siendo tan inofensivos que logramos infiltrarnos en el castillo y salir "con vida" para reirnos de todo.
I know that all of them also have fond memories of Ragnarok from all over the world.
Sé que todos ellos también tienen gratos recuerdos de todo el mundo de Ragnarok.

NO, not even close to it... How can you summarize so many hours and experiences in a single publication? You just can't, but I was able to tell part of what has been my relationship, my experience and my feelings, touched and enlivened by some (of so many) video games.
Detailed history of the consoles I had, of my first computer, of the first "52 games in 1" cartridge I had; it would be many more lines to tell and a huge challenge for my memory, maybe in another opportunity.
Finally I share a commercial video from Sony, which I believe faithfully transmits what I feel throughout my life as a gamer and which, I suspect many of you, dear readers, also share with me.
¿Esto es todo?
NO, ni se acerca a serlo... ¿Como puedes resumir tantas horas y vivencias en una sola publicación? Simplemente no puedes pero si pude contar parte de lo que ha sido mi relación, mi experiencia y mis sentimientos, tocados y avivados por algunos (de tantos) videojuegos.
Historia detallada de las consolas que tuve, de mi primer computador, del primer cartucho de "52 juegos en 1" que tuve; serían muchas más líneas que contar y un reto enorme para mi memoria, quizás en otra oportunidad.
Finalmente comparto un video comercial de Sony, el cual creo transmite fielmente lo que siento a lo largo de mi vida como gamer y que, sospecho muchos de ustedes, queridos lectores, también comparten conmigo.
