Since It appeared in 1969, the animate series “Scooby-Doo” has become a world phenomenon, the adventures of the legendary dog and his friends solving mysteries around all the world in the famous “Mystery Machine” were know everywhere, with all this popularity, many new versions of the series were released time to time and also some movies with short stories. That’s why, when the videogames industry started to won place in the market, among many adaptations of movies and series for the consoles, the famous dog and the rest of the team, were not going to be missed, some games about Scooby started to appeared, but one of the first games decided to use one of the most recent movies of this character at the begins of the 2000’s, the movie “Scooby-Doo and the Cyber-Chase” was the chosen one to be brought to the PlayStation the same year the movie was released, with this one as the main base of this game, the developer company “Art Co.” with the distribution of “THQ” created a funny adventure who took very good moments of the movie which next to the dear characters make us feel like in an extra scene of the movie with the same sceneries but of course accompanied with a totally new point of view that made us enjoy this renewed game which took the best of the movie and added many new characteristics that make this game very enjoyable and fun to spend a couple of hours with the most famous animated mystery detectives of all the times. This is “Scooby-Doo and the Cyber-Chase”.

Por eso, cuando la industria de los videojuegos comenzó a ganar espacio en el mercado, entre muchas adaptaciones de películas y series para las consolas, no se iban a perder la oportunidad de utilizar al famoso perro y el resto del equipo, empezaron a aparecer algunos juegos sobre Scooby, pero uno de los primeros juegos decidió tomar una de las películas más recientes de este personaje a principios de la década del 2000, la película “Scooby-Doo and the Cyber-Chase” fue la elegida para ser traida a la PlayStation del mismo año en que se estrenó la película, con esta como base principal de este juego, la empresa desarrolladora "Art Co." con la distribución de “THQ” crearon una divertida aventura que se llevó muy buenos momentos de la película que junto a los queridos personajes nos hacen sentir como en una escena extra de esta, con los mismos escenarios pero por supuesto acompañada de un punto de vista totalmente nuevo que nos hizo disfrutar de este renovado juego que tomó lo mejor de la película y agregó muchas características nuevas que hacen de este juego muy ameno y divertido para pasar un par de horas con los detectives de misterio animados más famosos de todos los tiempos. At the beginning of the game we are going to see a similar story to the one saw in the movie, our friends Scooby, Shaggy, Vilma, Daphne and Fred are going to play a videogame created based in their adventures solving mysteries around the world and they are very excited, but suddenly, a mysterious virus appear and trap them in a room. As usual, Fred suggest the team must split in teams to solve the mystery, Daphne and him are going to find a trap to catch the virus while Vilma is going to try to free them using her technologic Knowles, Shaggy and Scooby are chosen to get in the game to try stop the virus, they are very scared and don’t want to do it, but the guys convince them offering a box of Scooby’s snacks as a reward. After this, they go thought many different levels facing a lot of enemies and final bosses In different sceneries that We could saw in the movie as the far lands of Japan, the Jurassic time, the north pole among many others , finally we are going to have a final battle against the virus and when we could defeat him He is going to try to kill the team offside the game, He is about to attack Vilma, Shaggy and Scooby when Daphne and Fred appear with a trap and finally catch him forever in a communication device which has a virus protector, finally our friends are free and they can escape from that place.
Al comienzo del juego vamos a ver una historia similar a la que se ve en la película, nuestros amigos Scooby, Shaggy, Vilma, Daphne y Fred van a jugar un videojuego creado con base en sus aventuras resolviendo misterios alrededor del mundo y están muy emocionados, pero de repente, un virus misterioso aparece y los atrapa en una habitación. Como de costumbre, Fred sugiere que el equipo debe dividirse en equipos para resolver el misterio, Daphne y él van a encontrar una trampa para atrapar el virus mientras Vilma intentará liberarlos usando sus conocimientos tecnológicos, Shaggy y Scooby son elegidos para entrar en el juego para intentar detener el virus, ellos están muy asustados y no quieren hacerlo, pero los chicos los convencen ofreciendo una caja de Scooby galletas como recompensa. We are going to be in a main scenery where we could see the different zones of the video game, there are seven zones with three levels each, two levels with a platform style where we are going to walk for a path full of enemies and obstacles that we must avoid, every zone has its own characteristics and enemies that are part of the environment, every level is a part of the movie expanded and brought to life with many more characteristics, the third level of every zone is a battle with a boss. We are just going to have two playable characters, these are Shaggy and Scooby, as there can be just one character per zone, there are going to be some levels that can only be played for Scooby and others for Shaggy, while we are going through every level, the rest of the gang is going to be communicating with us thanks to a communication device, they will explain us the basic controls of the game and also are going to be telling us some clues to overcome every problem we are going to find, maybe the game should use more expression like we used to heard in the cartoon, but at least we can feel like part of the gang. The fact of change the zone and the characters from time to time add some extra elements that make the game very changeable and not repetitive as there are going to be many different sceneries to face.
Vamos a estar en un escenario principal donde podremos ver las diferentes zonas del videojuego, hay siete zonas con tres niveles cada una, dos niveles con estilo plataforma donde vamos a caminar por un camino lleno de enemigos y obstáculos que debemos evitar, cada zona tiene sus propias características y enemigos que son parte del entorno, cada nivel es una parte de la película expandida y traída a la vida con muchas más características, el tercer nivel de cada zona es una batalla con un jefe. Solo vamos a tener dos personajes jugables, estos son Shaggy y Scooby, ya que solo puede haber un personaje por zona, habrá algunos niveles que solo se podrán jugar con Scooby y otros con Shaggy, mientras estamos pasando cada nivel, el resto de la pandilla se va a estar comunicando con nosotros gracias a un dispositivo de comunicación, nos explicarán los controles básicos del juego y además nos van a ir contando algunas pistas para superar cada problema que nos vayamos encontrando , tal vez el juego debió usar más expresiones como solíamos escuchar en la caricatura, pero al menos podemos sentirnos parte de la pandilla. El hecho de cambiar la zona y los personajes de vez en cuando añade algunos elementos extra que hacen que el juego sea muy cambiante y no repetitivo ya que van a haber muchos escenarios diferentes a los que enfrentarse.

All the sceneries were seen in the movie, some of them just with a light sight and other deeper, but the game took very interesting moments to bring them to this adventure that show us a totally different perspective of the movie. Our friends Shaggy and Scooby are just going to have their abilities to run and jump to overcome every level and enemy, besides this, the only available weapon for them are going to be some pies that are going to be around the place, we can throw this pies to the enemies to eliminate them with one shot, we’ll have to be very careful spending our munitions as they are limited and we’ll just could reload them when we find them around the place.
Todos los escenarios se vieron en la película, algunos de ellos solo con una vista ligera y otros más profundos, pero el juego tomó momentos muy interesantes para traerlos a esta aventura que nos muestran una perspectiva totalmente diferente de la película. Nuestros amigos Shaggy y Scooby solo tendrán sus habilidades para correr y saltar para superar todos los niveles y enemigos, además de esto, la única arma disponible para ellos serán algunos pasteles que van a estar por el lugar, vamos a poder lanzarlos a los enemigos para eliminarlos de un solo disparo, deberemos tener mucho cuidado gastando nuestras municiones ya que son limitadas y solo las podremos recargar cuando las encontremos en algún lugar.

As the third level of every zone is going to be a final boss, we are going to see many variations in the game as the battle dynamic is going to be in a constant change, the battle scenery and the boss is going to be related to the respective zone, we could see some elements from the environment which are going to try stop us and then a direct attack from the boss to eliminate us, after this boss’ attack we could have a chance to shot him with a pie and hurt him, after shot him three times we’ll finally defeat him. As there are going to be seven zones we will face seven bosses, in a couple of zones the final boss is going to be the evil virus using some weapon to stop us, but the final battle with the virus is going to be in the last level where we are going to face him in a battle in the hard disk of the game.

In conclusion “Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase” is an entertaining game that can make us enjoy a funny adventure with these iconic characters in one of their great movies, the game knew how to use many scenes from the movie and totally transform them in a way that we could enjoy a totally real videogame as the movie wanted to show, maybe they could have taken in to advantage the great variety of levels showed in the movie and make a longer game with more levels and more enemies because even when the game is interesting and can keeps us playing without turn in boring, it results very short as it can take just a couple of hours to totally finish it, maybe the game don’t show the total essence of the series as there are very short dialogs from the characters because mostly of them are about a clue or an instruction for the game, this can disappoint us a little bit, but is a renewed way to enjoy with tis characters in a totally different adventure that even without being totally equal to the movie, It keeps the main idea and show us very interesting moments, maybe we are not going to see a loyal copy to the movie or a chapter from the series, but we are going to enjoy a very funny and not repetitive or boring adventure with the most famous and coward dog detective of all the TV story.
En conclusión “Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase” es un juego entretenido que puede hacernos disfrutar de una divertida aventura con estos personajes icónicos en una de sus grandes películas, el juego supo aprovechar muchas escenas de la película y transformarlas totalmente de una manera que pudiéramos disfrutar de un videojuego totalmente real como la película quería mostrar, tal vez podrían haber aprovechado la gran variedad de niveles mostrados en la película y hacer un juego más largo con más niveles y más enemigos porque incluso cuando el juego es interesante y puede mantenernos jugando sin volverse aburrido, resulta muy corto ya que puede tomar solo un par de horas terminarlo totalmente, tal vez el juego no muestre la esencia total de la serie ya que hay diálogos muy cortos de los personajes porque en su mayoría se trata de una pista o una instrucción para el juego, esto puede decepcionarnos un poco, pero es una forma renovada de disfrutar con estos personajes en una aventura diferente que aún sin ser totalmente igual a la película, mantiene la idea principal y nos muestra momentos muy interesantes, quizás no vamos a ver una copia fiel a la película o un capítulo de la serie, pero vamos a disfrutar de una aventura muy divertida y no repetitiva ni aburrida con el perro detective más famoso y cobarde de toda la historia televisiva.
