Checking out "The Copper Age" Update in Minecraft

in Hive Gaming2 days ago

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

Minecraft released one of the biggest updates of the year called The Copper Age (Java Edition 1.21.9). It introduced a lot of new copper-related things, most notably, a Copper Golem, Copper Chest, Shelves and other items. The last Minecraft edition I played was Java version 1.21.4, and since then, there have been a lot of changes and additions. So, and @bemier I decided to check it out, and we started a new survival world.

We spawned near an ocean, on a Savannah biome. And soon noticed one of the new things that we missed in the last few updates. Pigs, cows and chickens now have different fur variants depending on the location they were spawned in.

I would have blamed it on the resource pack, but we didn't have any mod packs at that point. It was a bit of a surprise.

We gathered the basic tools and killed a lot of mobs during our first day. Once we had enough wood and food, it was time to start our mining adventure and gather some resources. Luckily, we spawned next to one of the biggest caves we had ever found.

We gathered a lot of iron and copper. We usually ignore copper because of how useful it used to be, but now we mine every copper ore we find. With this update, we have a new use case of copper; we can now craft copper weapons and tools along with copper armour. These are slightly worse than iron.

I like the Copper armour, not too bad. We still couldn't make the copper golem; it requires a pumpkin, and we had to go up and find some. But that will be later. Our goal was to get a lot more resources. Getting to full iron and then slowly upgrading our armour and tools to diamond, if this cave allows.

I tested the new F3 menu, which is much more useful now. We can turn off all the unnecessary crap and even keep the valuable information up at all times. Such a good change to this feature.

We went deep inside the cave and started to find some diamonds. I turned on the shaders and increased the cave brightness. It was working well.

Because of how big this cave was, finding diamonds was easy. At the same time, there were a lot of hostile mobs, which we slowly cleared off.

We found a big, lush cave biome inside here. It was looking beautiful.

We loved this place so much and decided to make it our base. It provides light, food, water and other useful items right here. We found enough diamonds to complete our sets. With caves as big as these, branch mining is no longer the fastest way to get diamonds.

We made a tunnel that takes us straight to the surface. We ended up inside a jungle biome. This was the first time I saw a jungle biome this close to the spawn. There was a big bamboo forest on the other side of the river.

The lush cave is a much better place to build than on the surface. If we want to start a big base, the surface would be better, but we need to find a plains biome or something more open than the jungle. There are too many trees to clear.

Inside the cave, we set up a temporary base and found a lot of tropical fish and Axolotls.

We found pandas as well. This is the fastest we found pandas. Even before we found horses lol.

I wanted to set up an enchanting setup as soon as I could. So, I collected some sugarcane and planted it underground in a room. They will be converted into paper and books. But for that, we need to kill a lot of cows or horses and get their leather. Let's see what we build as our first base. For now, we were just collecting the basic resources. We were successful in doing so, that too without dying once so far.

Let me know what your thoughts are about the new copper tools and armour that were added to Minecraft. I love it, it gives me more options and more use cases for copper.

Thanks for reading.

Until next shot...

There are so many beautiful landscapes to create in Minecraft, and I didn't know they'd already released the new update! I'm dying to play it and start a new world without mods, where there's only the base game. I really liked this update because now we can organize our warehouses a little better.

Those Copper Golems are such a time saver. Now, you can just dump all your items in the chest, and they will automatically sort them out in the appropriate chests.

Hey friend, I haven't checked this update yet. I'm currently busy with Roblox, it's got me hooked. Hehe. I'll check this update out soon. Hugs.
