Chrome King Gallywix Lies Dead - World of Warcraft: the War Within

in Hive Gaming2 months ago

It's been a little while since I posted about my first raid of the Liberation of Undermine in World of Warcraft: the War Within. Even if I've been busy enough to not prioritizing Hive for a weeks time I haven't been so busy that I haven't been playing games. Raids take place twice a week at a set time so that's something I can clean my schedule for.

Goodbye Gallywix

When I left off with my raid last time I had taken down six out of eight bosses with my group. We cleared those bosses on our first raid night, and on the next raid night we easily cleared the remaining two bosses. Mug'zee, which is the penultimate boss of the raid, went down after just a few tries. We didn't spent a lot of time trying to take down Gallywix either. The normal difficulty of the raid usually isn't that hard to clear so it's no surprise.

The fight itself was a lot of fun. It has the raid splitting into two separate groups who in turn have to deal with different kinds of mechanics. I as a tank have to make sure I have aggro on the boss at the right times so that we soak up every other attacks he does. It means I have to pay attention to timers and time my taunst right, because if I don't the other group will risk wiping, which in return means that everyone will wipe.

When the boss went down I was able to secure myself a piece of loot. The most sought after item in the raid: the curio. These are items that can be exchanged for any tier gear piece of your choice. Tiet gear pieces are always best in slot for any class so these are highly sought after. It also means I was able to get my two piece tier set bonus already in the first week of playing. If I'm lucky I'll be able to get the four piece set bonus next week after we start clearing the raid on heroic difficulty.

We did do a few pulls on the first boss on heroic difficulty this evening as we had almost an hour of raidtime left after defeating Gallywix. We managed to take down Vexie, the first boss, already so I'm excited to see how the rest of the bosses feel on heroic difficulty when we return to them next week.

It seems like an efficient and well-coordinated raid. And it sounds like your team is more than ready for the grind. Keep the updates coming.
