Entering The Dark World of Blasphemous

in Hive Gaming5 months ago

Well hello there. It's been about two months since I wiped my PC and couldn't log back into Hive because I had misplaced my keys. Technically I knew roughly where they were all along. I had accidentally put my thumb drives containing the keys in a box when redacorating my room and stowed it away. Yesterday I finally put in the necessary effort to go looking for them.

Even if I've been idle on Hive for two months it doesn't mean I've been idle in gaming. I've been gaming pretty hard for the last few weeks and even breathed ned life into my YouTube channel. Streaming got to time consuming and exhausting so now I'm giving classic let's play videos a go. It's going pretty well so far through my first series of the game Blasphemous.

This is a 2D souls-like metroidvania game with some pretty awesome pixel art. It's a genre I haven't explored much before but after playing this game I feel like I'm entering my next era of gaming. I need to explore more titles in this genre.

So far I've put out 45 videos about Blasphemous, and even finished the series. I've gained more than 26,000 views on these videos which is really awesome. There's a pretty big community that seems to be very passionate about this game and they've welcomed me as one of their own through my videos. Some people have watched and commented on every single one of my videos which means they've watched more than 15 hours of footage of my gameplay. Pretty cool.

I'm gonna be posting most of these videos to Hive over the next few weeks and I'll be dumping a few videos in each post to try and catch up. I'm currently publishing new videos every 18 hours so they're coming out at quite a pace. Ideally I was going to post these to Hive as they came out, but oh well.

In the first three videos that you can see in this post I'm still learning the game. I'm not really used to playing games from this perspective and I'm surprised at how different it actually is to move around and fight enemies from a side-scrolling 2D perspective. It's a bit of a learning curve.

I slowly make my way through the first few areas. I have to say I understand little of the story and lore of the game as it's all quite obscure. At least the gameplay is superb and top notch.

YouTube pushed some of your shorts on my wall, loved the quality of those.

One of those games I want to try. They say the second game is even better than the first.

That's cool! I've played Blasphemous 2 as well now and it's a lot more fun that the 1st. They have their qualities in different things I would say.

Congratulations @pusen!
You raised your level and are now a Dolphin!

Hi Pusen, reading that you are having trouble learning the game and adapting to a 2D environment makes me smile. That is because you are connecting with the history of videogames brought as retro and back to life. 2D has its perks, but I am sure you get used to it quickly. Enjoy!

Awesome work on your Blasphemous videos! 🎮Your dedication to creating 45 videos and reaching over 26,000 views demonstrates your passion and commitment to the game.

Since you're exploring more Metroidvania-style titles, have you considered trying Hollow Knight?
