Dark Souls is such a great example of diversification. Even though the enemy are in the exact same places every time the game play different if you use different weapons. It's not enough to be good at the game. You have to be good at the weapon as well. And the character creation is so good but also such a meme. I think a game with the mechanics you describe would be great.
