Greetings,
Today I pull out my dusty circuit bent Sega Genesis and try to play "sonic and knuckles!"
Circuit bending is the art of making new connections in electronics that were not initially designed or desired for the original function, typically with old 80s casio keyboards and musical instruments...but this also works with an interesting effect with some video gear. so, depending on which way the new switches on top of the sega are positioned, it will affect what is outputted on the screen!
As you can see, it can be rather challenging or disorienting to attempt to play the game that only bares a small resemblance to the original!
check out that sega logo!
Towards the end, as i was flipping the various switches, it froze up the game -so i just rolled with it, and checked out the weird bits and pixels!
Still a cool effect-and one i want to pursue more to use these games and ideas as source material for videos and art.
thanks for checking out my post!
