ubisoft fans REVOLT after NFT announcement -- 95% dislikes. Let's talk about it

in Hive Gaming2 years ago

Ubisoft recently announced a bold new NFT gaming program called QUARTZ. It was a well done announcement, offering a low-stakes NFT program that would make it easy for players to have some ownership over their in-game items.

Gamers hate NFTs :-(

Unfortunately, players REVOLTED. They are pissed. 95% of the votes on Ubisoft's announcement video were negative...

For my friends and I, it's easy to get confused by reactions like this. We see NFTs as the future of gaming, and of society itself. NFTs offer a way to restructure areas of society and dramatically improve the power given to the participants in games, art projects, and even financial protocols. We know it. The outside world is still confused.

They Don't Know What They Are Saying

They hate NFTs because they don't understand. we MUST stay strong and maintain a positive disposition. If we stoop to the level of the haters, arguing and slinging insults, we help nobody.

One by one, people will see the light. Cryptocurrency gaming feels like it's made a lot of progress, but we are still so early. Stay patient and play the long game, because crypto gaming will probably not go properly mainstream for AT LEAST another year. You might expect it by 2024, according to a few smart people I've talked to in the industry.

kindness is the Level 99 ULTRASWORD of convincing people

Stay strong, stay positive, and be kind to people who currently misunderstand NFT technology. Whenever they interact with crypto culture, let us show them kindness and generosity. Eventually, they will see the light.

Do you think Ubisoft will still follow through with their NFT plans? Or will this scare them away? Personally, I think they might cancel everything, but I am hoping they persevere and do it anyway.

Damn that's wild. People are so scared of new things they don't understand.

And this is true for a lot of things in general. Even for other people. They show hate and rejection, if you are different from them. I experienced this at first hand. I live with multiple disabilities, and one of them is autism spectrum disorder. I was bullied both verbally and physically in both in the elementary school and in the middle school. I finished the middle school as a private student in 2012.

The nft world is revolutionizing and I think that people should adapt, each person should learn and be trained on new topics and not reject them.

I said this in another post but the marketplace system has been in games like Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike:GO on Steam, the difference with Ubisoft NFTs is that the item will carry its history. This could be like in real sports where the player gives the shoes they played the game in to a fan, now imagine that but with Esports players giving/selling the items they carried when they won a tournament. It's gonna be interesting for sure! Thanks for sharing.

100% the Steam marketplace has existed for a long time, gamers have also enjoyed Magic the Gathering for decades, both of those are like precursors to NFTs. They need to get used to the new thing, eventually they'll see the light

Gamers hate NFTs :-(

I can consider myself a gamer (amongst other things), but I do not hate NFTs. Actually I like NFTs. I started with Steem Monsters/Splinterlands on 2018.12.30. Much before NFTs become popular.

Indeed, most everybody on Hive loves NFTs. But you know what I mean, which that a lot of gamers in "trad gaming" have very negative opinions of NFTs.

Yes. Most of them probably do not know even about cryptocurrencies, let alone NFTs.

kindness is the Level 99 ULTRASWORD of convincing people

Soooooooooo hard to do in face of all this ignorance. But you make a very good point. <3

yea its not easy

I'm not sure if they hate it or if they just hate Ubisoft is doing it. Ubisoft is known to muck things up. If we had a different company such as Naughty Dog or someone else with a better reputation, the reception to it might be more different. Anyway, NFT is the way to go!

Yea thats a good point
