Buu's Fury is one of the most interesting Dragon Ball Z games that exist within the Gameboy Advance catalogue, commonly overshadowed by the level of recognition received by its predecessor (The Legacy of Goku II) it seems that very few people know this jewel created for give closure to the beautiful story of Z on the Nintendo handheld console.

I have already talked about this trilogy on several occasions, and it is that for me, despite the fact that its forays into the genre are few, I have always felt that Dragon Ball Z and the RPG is a combination that makes all the sense in the world, a logical thought that this humble title released 2004 seems to make the most of it.

The first thing that we must recognize regarding Buu's Fury is that it is not only a game in charge of continuing the story after Cell's defeat, but also that it tarnishes in polishing all the cruder aspects of Legacy of Goku II, therefore, we have a slightly more ambitious title in the playable department, with several new mechanics available from the start both in terms of straight-forward gameplay and when it comes to being a solid RPG.

The level increases were already present before, but here they are accompanied by a series of attribute points that we can distribute to our liking depending on how we want to "train our characters" and it will be recurring to find accessories that we can equip to our characters. Although in essence the experience is still very similar, it must be recognized that these management possibilities end up making farming much more pleasant for periods of time, especially if we consider that Buu's Fury is not condescending at all with his player and basically pretends that we have already completed the two previous games.

Obviously, there will always be the eternal debate as to whether this is the best way to narrate the brilliant story created by Akira Toriyama, a subject in which we could expose many points both for and against, Buu's Fury must logically adjust the course of certain events to accommodate the very limited capabilities of the console, as well as the RPG nature of the experience.

On the other hand, we could argue that it's a worthy departure, rife with a charismatic visual style and the ability to use pixel art very cleverly to create a distinct yet honorable representation.

As happened with The Legacy of Goku II (and to a lesser extent with Legacy of Goku I), Buu's Fury is a brilliant example of the possibilities of the franchise when it leaves the comfort zone, an ambitious game where the positive aspects outweigh much to the negatives and it will always be nice to dive in.

Despite not having owned a game boy advance, I know that memorable games came out for that type of consoles. There is a colleague who always brings his analysis and reviews about games for this console and they are pretty good games.

I had never heard about the dragon ball Z saga for this console, I found your review quite entertaining and interesting, you capture everything quite well without missing any detail. I'm not a big fan of the RPG genre, but I can recognize great games of this genre. When I saw the screenshots, I liked the graphics, despite being such a limited console, you can see the good work they did, the characters are very similar and are recognized at a glance.

It was good to read you! Greetings and blessings😁

Thanks for the comment! Appreciate it!

It's a great game, I love how they worked around that console limitations, besides, the RPG is always a good fit for DBZ

This game is the best and more if we enjoyed the series when we were kids, one of my favorite handheld games.

Oh totally! A great rpg

As you mentioned, this game must be much less known than the other one because I've never heard of this one, but I've heard of the other one a few times.
