In particular, the Nintendo 64 was my first video game console; my mom gave it to me in the early 2000s, when it was booming and everyone wanted this console. I remember my excitement when I opened my Christmas gift and saw the box with the iconic Nintendo 64 logo, and in less than 30 seconds I was already connected to the television and beginning what would be a spectacular stage of my childhood.

I remember one of my cousins had a gray Nintendo 64, mine was dark green but it had transparency, just like the controller. We used to get together to spend long hours playing Mario Tennis, Mario Kart and Pokemon Stadium 1. Since his family has more economic resources than mine, he had more games than I did and generally lent them to me to play at home, especially adventures like Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Perfect Dark.

Of all the games that I had and they lent me, there are 3 games that I particularly consider to be the best I have played on that console for various aspects: gameplay, story, images and cinematics, levels, difficulty, hours of play... Anyway, a lot of variables that can be summarized in how much the game caught me and how many times I played it, in story mode, without getting tired or bored.

Who didn't play this wonder in 3D? It offers you two main game modes: one where you become a Pokémon Trainer and you must fight battles after choosing a team and facing different Gym leaders such as Brock, Misty and Giovanni (there are 8 leaders, each one specialized in a Pokémon element) and High Command (there are 4), to get more Pokémon of different levels and continue your adventure. The other most played mode is the "Kids Club" where you find several very entertaining multiplayer minigames to have fun with friends or family. Among them was the "Magikarp Splash", where the winner was the one who made the Magikarp jump the most by pressing a button repeatedly. Another minigame was "Go for the sushi!" where you are a Lickitung and you must eat different types of sushi that appear on a conveyor belt with different values, and whoever collects the most points wins.
In the second installment of the game, they added Pokémon from the Johto League (in the first there were only Pokémon from the Kanto League) and it allowed us to download Pokémon from other games such as Pokémon Yellow, Blue and Red, to use them in our battles and be the most powerful.

OMG I love this game with all my soul. In this adventure starring the bear Banjo and the bird Kazooie, we will fight against the witch Gruntilda who kidnapped Banjo's sister, Tooty, and we will go through different mazes, caverns and levels collecting puzzle pieces until we achieve our goal. The game is wonderful, in 3D and super entertaining. The missions are not that simple and if you want to win, you need to be quite a strategist and smart to make good decisions that will lead you to Gruntilda's room and fight her.
There are levels in the jungle, snow, mountains, beaches, deserts, swamps, aqueducts, ships, haunted houses... All kinds of scenarios with their different puzzles that must be solved to obtain the precious puzzle pieces, necessary to unlock higher levels . Too good an adventure, it's really worth every second I played it.
TOP 1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
This game... This game. Guaranteed thrills from start to finish, an incredible story, 10-point gameplay, levels from easy to very difficult, missions after missions, a lot of content to discover and enjoy... A work of art.

In this game you are in the shoes of Link, a boy from the Kokiri forest who is appointed by the Great Deku Tree to undertake an adventure and fulfill the mission of saving the kingdom of Hyrule from the clutches of the mighty Ganondorf, a Gerudo who wants, at all costs, become the King of Hyrule. From the beginning we realize that the game is not very intuitive, since it requires a great capacity of reasoning to know which step is the next to take.
The game is practically divided into two parts, Link child and Link teenager or adult. Child Link must meet with the 3 most important Sages of the kingdom, and once he succeeds, he learns the "Song of Time" and after taking out the Master Sword from the Temple of Time, and travels in time until he is an adult. In this phase we must go through 5 temples and defeat their bosses to, in the end, face Ganondorf and recover Princess Zelda and achieve peace in Hyrule.
The adventure is quite long, but it never loses its appeal and keeps you hooked on the TV for hours after hours without tiring you out. It's a masterpiece, and it got its remake for the Nintendo 3Ds and it's still a very successful series to this day. If you did not play this game, I recommend that you download an emulator and do it, you will thank me later.

Particularmente, el Nintendo 64 fue mi primera consola de videojuegos; mi mamá me la regaló en los inicios de los años 2000, cuando estaba en auge y todos querían esta consola. Recuerdo mi emoción al abrir mi regalo de Navidad y ver la caja con el logo tan icónico del Nintendo 64, y en menos de 30 segundos ya estaba conectado al televisor e iniciando lo que sería una etapa espectacular de mi niñez.

Recuerdo que uno de mis primos tenía un Nintendo 64 gris, el mío era verde oscuro pero tenía transparencia, al igual que el control. Solíamos reunirnos para pasar largas horas jugando Mario Tennis, Mario Kart y Pokemon Stadium 1. Ya que su familia posee más recursos económicos que la mía, él tenía más juegos que yo y generalmente me los prestaba para jugarlos en casa, sobretodo los aventura como Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time y Perfect Dark.

De todos los juegos que tuve y me prestaron, hay 3 juegos que particularmente considero que son los mejores que he jugado en esa consola por varios aspectos: jugabilidad, historia, imágenes y cinemáticas, niveles, dificultad, horas de juego... En fin, un montón de variables que se resumen en cuánto me atrapó el juego y cuántas veces lo jugué, en modo historia, sin cansarme ni aburrirme.

¿Quién no jugó esta maravilla en 3D? Te ofrece dos modos principales de juego: uno donde te conviertes en Entrenador Pokémon y debes ir librando batallas tras escoger un equipo y enfrentarte a diferentes líderes de Gimnasio como Brock, Misty y Giovanni (hay 8 líderes, cada uno especializado en un elemento Pokémon) y Altos Mando (son 4), para obtener más Pokémon de diferentes niveles y continuar tu aventura. El otro modo más jugado es el "Kids Club" donde encuentras varios minijuegos multijugadores muy entretenidos para divertirte con amigos o familiares. Entre ellos, estaba la "Salpicadura de Magikarp", en donde ganaba el que más hiciera saltar al Magikarp presionando un botón repetidamente. Otro minijuego era "¡A por el sushi!" donde eres un Lickitung y debes comer diferentes tipos de sushi que aparecen en una cinta transportadora con diferentes valores, y gana quien reúna más puntos.
En la segunda entrega del juego, añadieron Pokémones de la Liga Johto (en la primera solo habían Pokémones de la Liga Kanto) y nos permitía descargar Pokémones desde otros juegos como Pokémon Amarillo, Azul y Rojo, para usarlos en nuestras batallas y ser los más poderosos.
NÚMERO 2. Banjo-Kazooie

Dios mío, amo este juego con toda mi alma. En esta aventura protagonizada por el oso Banjo y el pájaro Kazooie, lucharemos contra la bruja Gruntilda quien secuestró a la hermana de Banjo, Tooty, y atravesaremos distintos laberintos, cavernas y niveles recogiendo piezas de rompecabezas hasta lograr nuestro objetivo. El juego es maravilloso, en 3D y súper entretenido. Las misiones no son tan sencillas y si quieres ganar, necesitas ser bastante estratega e inteligente para tomar buenas decisiones que te lleven a la habitación de Gruntilda y luchar contra ella.
Hay niveles en la selva, nieve, montañas, playas, desiertos, pantanos, acueductos, barcos, casas embrujadas... Todo tipo de escenarios con sus diferentes acertijos que se deben resolver para obtener las preciadas piezas de rompecabezas, necesarias para desbloquear niveles superiores. Una aventura demasiado buena, de verdad vale la pena cada segundo que lo jugué.
NÚMERO 1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Este juego... Este juego. Emociones garantizadas de inicio a fin, una historia increíble, jugabilidad de 10 puntos, niveles desde fáciles a muy complicados, misiones tras misiones, mucho contenido para descubrir y disfrutar... Una obra de arte.

En este juego estás en la piel de Link, un niño del bosque Kokiri quien es designado por el Gran Árbol Deku para emprender una aventura y cumplir con la misión de salvar al reino de Hyrule de las garras del poderoso Ganondorf, un Gerudo que quiere, a toda costa, convertirse en el Rey de Hyrule. Desde el principio nos damos cuenta de que el juego tiene poco de intuitivo, ya que nos exige una gran capacidad de razonamiento para saber cuál paso es el siguiente que debemos dar.
El juego se divide prácticamente en dos partes, Link niño y Link adolescente o adulto. Link niño debe reunirse con los 3 Sabios más importantes del reino, y una vez lo consigue, aprende la "Canción del tiempo" y tras sacar la Espada Maestra del Templo del Tiempo, y viaja en el tiempo hasta ser adulto. En esta fase debemos atravesar 5 templos y derrotar a sus jefes para, al final, enfrentarnos a Ganondorf y recuperar a la princesa Zelda y lograr la paz en Hyrule.
La aventura es bastante larga, pero nunca pierde el atractivo y te mantiene enganchado al televisor horas tras horas sin cansarte. Es una obra maestra, y obtuvo su remake para el Nintendo 3Ds y sigue siendo una saga muy exitosa hasta el día de hoy. Si no jugaron este juego, les recomiendo que descarguen un emulador y lo hagan, me lo agradecerán luego.

OoT it’s the cornerstone of modern-day gameplay and storytelling in Videogames, it’s always nice to see him properly recognized.
I think when I'm 80 years old, I'll look back and still consider OoT as the best videogame ever. Everyone who was involved in the development of the game and their children deserves everything they want for a lifetime.
No doubt your honorable mentions are a gem, but yes, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time had to be first place, yes or yes, I think it's one of the best adventure games ever, damn it! 😅 While Mario Kart and Super Mario are also memorable games, absolutely incredible titles, it's an uphill battle for me.🤣
Oooh for sure. Mario Kart was ment to hang out a while, play with friends, have a good time... Super Mario is a bit more challenging and ment to focus on the game. But Zelda... Oh God, it has it all, is the whole package 💯
