Hello everyone! Happy day! 😁
In this post, I decided to combine the two things I love to do: modeling in Blender and video games. I've been a huge video game fan since I was very little. I remember the first game I loved was Super Mario Bros. 2. I'd get home from preschool, do my homework, watch my favorite cartoon, and then play a few rounds of this game, haha. But when the third one came out, and I could fly, that was incredible! The missions and the worlds changed. Honestly, that childhood was wonderful.

¡Hola colmena!

Regarding the modeling, the truth is that I hadn't practiced 3D modeling for several months, and I don't think I did it in the most optimal way, but it looks pretty good. What do you think?

En cuanto al modelado, la verdad es que tenia varios meses sin practicar el modelado 3d, y creo que no lo hice de la forma mas optima, pero luce bastante bien ¿Qué opinan ustedes?

In the video you can see the entire accelerated process of modeling this Nintendo NES controller, and tell me, what controller did you use to start your journey through the various worlds of video games?

En el video pueden ver todo el proceso acelerado del modela de este control de Nintendo Nes y cuéntenme ustedes ¿Cuál fue el control con el que ustedes iniciaron ese viaje entre los diversos mundos de los videojuegos?

I think that was actually the controller for my first console XD I don't even remember where it came from. After that I think my parents got us a Playstation (the original one) one Christmas, but I was still primarily a PC gamer. Decades later when my partner and I moved in together we kept buying Playstations. I think the latest one we have now is a PS5. J eventually got old and stopped gaming completley, I remained primarily a PC gamer but then reduced to only playing Minecraft with sibling dearest, and the kids also remain primarily PC gamers (though the boys take the Playstation controllers sometimes as they apparently work better for some of the games they play which then annoys their sister when all the controllers are flat or gone XD).

I went through a lot of consoles when I was a kid, that must be why I still enjoy playing games haha. I had a lot of pirated NES consoles XD then Sega Genesis, N64, Sega Dreamcast, PS2, and I bought the Xbox 360 myself when I was older. Currently, I play on PC, and I love it, just like I love 3D modeling.

As for the model, the topology is terrible haha, but I think it looks nice.

Topology only really matters if you're doing procedural textures (I still haven't fully worked out the texture flow) or animating ;D

That's true, and a controller doesn't have facial expressions XD
I imagine they use a suitable topology for these ads that show the buttons separately and the controller assembling.

Hard things generally don't need to deform so you'd still only really need to care about as much as you care about render times because better topology does render a bit quicker. And also a matter of pride I guess if you want to look like you know what you're doing XD

A controller for the SNES. Although it's hard to believe after years of being accustomed to the best controller ever, the PlayStation one. I once tried to complain, but then I remembered how easy it was to play games that relied on dexterity or required multiple buttons. Anyway, PlayStation and Sony rule this field, and that hasn't changed over the years. I can't imagine a more ergonomic controller.

I never got to experience the Super Nintendo or SNES; back then I played Sega Genesis, and the controller was terrible, haha. But there are many opinions about the most comfortable controller these days, and I lean more towards Microsoft's design. When you relax your hand, it feels natural, and that's how Xbox controllers are designed.

Well, the Sega controller wasn't very good... I played on it too :D. But then again, I can say the same about every Xbox after the first generation (great, but too big a pad, not for my European hand, only for an American Hamburger). Subsequent Xboxes didn't have a pleasant controller for me.

Oh that's true, but on the 360 they accommodated the original model. I understand that not everyone has the same tastes, but I find this one very comfortable, having already played with the PS2 controller before.
