[Gameplay/Spoilers/Livestream] King Arthur: Knight's Tale.

in Hive Gaming3 years ago

Yesterday, I've bought a new game "King Arthur: Knight's Tale". The game is still in development but has some cool content to play already. So far, I've been enjoying the game and haven't encountered any bugs yet. I chose to play the Rogue game mode so there is no saving/loading and anything is permanent. If heroes die, they die. By playing this mode I think it adds an extra layer of challenge. Might not have been the best decision as it is the first time that I'm playing this game.

Progress

I've finished two missions so far and were able to get a few more heroes that'll work with me. I've noticed that you can play the game in various ways and adjust based on the decisions you make. I usually play the "bad" side, but right now I'm playing the good side.

Characters

As you progress, you have the chance to unlock more heroes that'll work with you. Here's a list of heroes that I've unlocked so far. There are several different types of heroes that you can encounter. Defender (massive life pool), Champions (Damage), Marksmen (Ranged attacks), Vanguard (Yet to discover), and an Arcanist that I have yet to find. Maybe there are more... fun!

Items
All of your heroes have item slots that require specific weapon, armor, and jewelry-types. You can't give certain items to some heroes, while I believe everyone can drink from a bottle, I assume potions are for everybody.

Skills
All hero types that I mentioned above have skills that you can unlock by leveling them up. All heroes get more exp every time you finish a mission. While the missions are scarce in this game (mode), choose wisely what skills you'll put where.

Sir Modred
You start with Sir Modred as your main character. The guy has a massive life pool. But what's there to expect since he almost killed King Arthur who has gone mental.

Sir Kay
As you progress in Camelot, you'll encounter a prisoner; Sir Kay. You can talk to him and after answering and questioning him you can release him. In exchange for your help, he'll accompany you to finish what you started in your prior life.

Sir Balan
The last key-figure to slay is the father of Sir Balan. He has two sons, one that I have to encounter. The good guy ended up being in my party after helping him out protecting some citizens. His motives were to save the citizens, mine (Modred's) were to save them so they can work on the land. Figures...

Lady Dindraine
Unexpectedly, Lady Dindraine was quite a surprising encounter as she safed our lifes when we were being ambushed. After seeing her in action, I got a strong feeling rangers are going to be OP as we progress further.

Sir Yvain
One of the three captives as we finished our 2nd mission is Sir Yvain. Glad to see another ranger joining my forces, must something happen to Lady Dindraine. I yet have to decide if I'll play him as a backup, or as a teammate for Lady Dindraine.

Sir Pelleas
The second guy that we captured is Sir Pelelas. Not sure when he'll be useful to me. But hey... got some extra shielding.

Sir Tegyr
The same goes for our third and last captive, Sir Tegyr.

Camelot

Once you've gathered enough resources to rebuild Camelot, it is yours for the taking. When you return from your mission, you gain some resources to rebuild important structures that will help you out later.

Currently, there are five buildings that we can rebuild and upgrade. Two aren't available yet in this version (The Round Table + Burial Grounds).

  • Cathedral
  • Merchant
  • Training Ground
  • Hospice
  • Enchanted Tower

  • Since I'm playing in rogue mode, I thought getting the Hospice built back (better) had the highest priority. And I have the feeling the Enchanted Tower will be important as well. You know... it was magic after all that brought Modred back, so shouldn't it play a big role in the game as well?

    Hospice

During missions, you'll take some hits. While HP (brown bar) is being restored every time you finish a mission. If your Vitality (green bar) is being drained, this isn't being regenerated afterward you finish a mission.

It's important to note, that whenever you lose vitality, it may cause sickness during your playtime. Thank God we have a Hospice where we can heal our Heroes. They'll heal every time you finish a mission.

This is all I have discovered so far yesterday, if you wanna tune in; I'm going to play some right now :)

    Cheers,
    Ruben
