Here we will analyze the first God of War on PS2. The original adventure of Kratos, in which we wield the Swords of Chaos to take revenge on the God of War of Ares. To this day, the title of Santa Monica Studios 15 years ago remains one of the best games for PlayStation 2 to date.
History
Kratos, or better known as The Ghost of Sparta, was once a Spartan general who sought the glory of Sparta, from battle to battle, from war to war. Kratos ruthlessly annihilated his opponents and so it lasted until The barbarians, another mighty empire ,defeated them.

Kratos on seeing his Great Defeat and his Imminent Death prays to the god Ares, begs him that the whole army of Barbarians be annihilated and in return his life will be his . Ares comes down from Olympus and kills the whole army but Ares had other plans, to make Kratos The Perfect Warrior and gives him the Famous Swords of Chaos.

Thus Kratos fulfills the will of Ares by waging war wherever his army follows him, until Ares sets a trap for him, Kratos attacks with his army in a village and destroys it, an oracle warns him that if he continues on that path, all that he loves most will be lost, Without paying attention, he enters a hut and kills everyone, until he finally realizes that he has killed his wife and daughter. When he sees what Ares did, he tells him that now without his wife and daughter as distractions, he can become the warrior he always wanted to be. The oracle makes the ashes of his wife and daughter stick to his skin giving him the appearance of a Phantom and thus The Legend of the Phantom of Sparta is born and Kratos, seeing the dirty action of Ares, prepares to kill the God of War.
Graphics
The game has some very good character designs for the period based on Greek mythology such as: Minotaurs, Hydra, Gorgons, Cyclops, Satyrs, Cerberus, etc. Characters like Aphrodite, Athena, Zeus, Kratos, Cronus and Ares are well made and Santa Monica Studios added their own original touches, also they focused more on the development of the environment with dark, gloomy and desolate theme, giving to understand the disasters caused by the Beasts and Wars, which go hand in hand with the history of the game. The character's animation is fluid when performing the movements with the weapons, the details of the blows are incredible, the combination of these make the game worthwhile.
Gameplay
For a game that was released in 2005, it has very good playability. The game is in 3rd person, with an innovative attack system that is based on two swords tied by chains that connect them to the Spartan. In addition, of the multiple weapons that the Spartan handles.

Kratos handles an arsenal of weapons that he dominates to perfection, which are granted by the Gods or stolen from the enemies, such as: the Swords of Chaos, Sword of Artemis, Sword of the Gods, Sword of Athena.
Magic
Kratos for being a God can use magic and employ it in magical attacks that can be granted by Gods or Titans, which are: Poseidon's wrath, Zeus' fury, Medusa's look and Hades' army.
Soundtrack
The soundtrack of God of War was composed by Gerard Marino, Mike Reagan, Phillips Winifred, Ron Fish and Velasco Cris try to make you feel that you are in that Greek era while you travel around the world and at the time of the combat it helps you feel the true emotion of fighting against a Great Minotaur, a Great Hydra or against Ares himself. You feel the persecution, the tragedy, the regret, the suffering, the anger that Kratos suffers through his journey to avenge the death of his wife and daughter.
In conclusion this game is one of the best of the Playstation 2 in comparison with other great games of the time, its history, soundtrack, playability, aesthetics and difficulty is something that really calls the attention of anyone who is a fan of blood and action and is totally worth the 10 hours that the game lasts.

Aquí analizaremos el primer God of War en PS2. La aventura original de Kratos , en la que blandimos las Espadas del Caos para vengarnos del Dios de la Guerra de Ares . Hasta el dia de hoy, el titulo de Santa Monica Studios de hace 15 años, sigue siendo uno de los mejores juegos para PlayStation 2 hasta la fecha.
Historia
Kratos o mejor conocido como el Fantasma de Esparta ,antes era un General Espartano que buscaba la gloria de Esparta, de batalla en batalla, de guerra en guerra, Kratos aniquilaba sin piedad a sus oponentes y así duró bastante tiempo hasta que los Bárbaros , otro poderoso imperio los derrotó.
Kratos al ver su Gran Derrota y su Inminente Muerte le reza al dios Ares, le ruega que todo el ejército de Bárbaros sea aniquilado y a cambio su vida será suya . Ares baja del Olimpo y mata a todo el ejército pero Ares tenía otros planes,convertir a Kratos en el Guerrero Perfecto y le da las famosas Espadas del Caos .
Así Kratos cumple la voluntad de Ares desatando guerras donde quiera que su ejército le siga, hasta que Ares le tiende una trampa, Kratos ataca con su ejército en un pueblo y lo destruye, un oráculo le advierte que si continúa por ese camino, todo lo que más ama lo perderá , sin prestarle atención, entra en una cabaña y mata a todos, hasta que al final se da cuenta de que ha asesinado a su esposa e hija , cuando ve lo que hizo Ares, le dice que ahora sin su esposa e hija como distracciones, puede convertirse en el guerrero que siempre quiso ser. El oráculo hace que las cenizas de su esposa e hija se peguen a su piel dándole la apariencia de un Fantasma y así nace La Leyenda del Fantasma de Esparta y Kratos, al ver la sucia acción de Ares, se dispone a matar al Dios de la Guerra.
Gráficos
El juego cuenta con unos diseños de personajes muy buenos para la época realizados basados en la mitología griega como: Minotauros, Hidras, gorgonas, cíclopes, sátiros, cerberos, etc. Personajes como afrodita, atenea, zeus, Kratos, cronos y Ares están bien hechos y Santa Mónica Studios agregaron sus propios toques originales, además se enfocaron más en el desarrollo del entorno con temática oscura, tétrica, sombría y desolada , dando a entender los desastres por Las Bestias y Guerras ocasionadas , que van de la mano con la historia del juego.La animación del personaje es fluida a la hora de realizar los movimientos con las armas, los detalles de los golpes son increíbles, la combinación de estos hacen que el juego valga la pena.
Jugabilidad
Para ser un juego que se estreno en el 2005, tiene una jugabilidad muy buena, El juego es en 3.ª persona, con un innovador sistema de ataque que se basa en dos espadas atadas por cadenas que las conectan al espartano. Además, de las múltiples armas que el espartano maneja.
Los Poderes del Espartano
Kratos maneja un arsenal de armas que domina a la perfección,que son otorgadas por Dioses o robadas a los enemigos, como: las Espadas del Caos, Espada de Artemisa, Espada de los Dioses, espada de atenea.
Kratos por ser un Dios puede usar magia y emplearla en ataques mágicos que puede ser otorgada por Dioses o Titanes, las cuales son:Ira de Poseidón, Furia de Zeus, Mirada de Medusa y ejército de Hades.
Soundtrack
La banda sonora de God of War fue compuesta por Gerard Marino, Mike Reagan, Phillips Winifred, Ron Fish y Velasco Cris tratan de hacerte sentir que estas en esa época griega mientras recorres el mundo y a la hora del combate te ayuda a sentir la verdadera emoción de combatir contra un Gran Minotauro, una Gran Hidra o contra el mismísimo Ares. Se siente la persecución, la tragedia, el arrepentimiento, el sufrimiento, la ira que sufre Kratos a través de su travesía para vengar la muerte de su esposa e hija .
En conclusión este juego es uno de los mejores de la Playstation 2 en comparación con otros grandes juegos de la época, su historia, soundtrack, jugabilidad, estética y dificulta es algo que realmente llama la atención a cualquier persona que sea fánatico de la sangre y acción y vale totalmente las 10 horas que dura el juego.

The whole series is great and mainly because I played all the parts. I'm especially glad that this store has a God of War Steam CD Key.
