We all love triple A games, the bast world around us, the attention to detail, the gunplay, the perfect and polished gameplay, those rich story full of interesting characters and what not.
But, sometimes, we stumble across different games, those games that make us wonder how the creator came up with something like this, and the frenetic enviroment we all live in, is no longer represented.
I bring to you all, Cloud Gardens, a chill game about growing plants in a post-apocaliptic/abandonded envirement in the middle of the emptyness of the clouds.
The Goal
Cloud of Gardens is developed by Thomas van den Berg the creator of the Kingdom Series of Games (I made a review of the game). This time, he brings a Lo-Fi enviroment, full of relaxing sounds, simple pixel art aesthetics full of content and creativity.
The goal of the game is simple, you clear stages by completing the porcentage of plant growth, you'll have to drag plants and objects into the scene, the objects have a radius that will make the plants grow and then you'll complete the stage.
The world is yours to create, and grown the plants around the scene, down to the left you have the porcentage of growth, when it reaches 100% you clear the stage and move on to another one, sometimes you used all the objects and failed to complete the stage, so you'll have to restart.
Gameplay
To play with keyboard and mouse, you use Left Click to pick and place items, and when holding and moving you can rotate the scene around. With the mouse wheel you can zoom in and out and when holding an item you can rotate it. With right click you drop the item into the inventory if you don't want to place it at all.
You can play it all with the mouse or use shortcuts:
- 1: Seeds Vacuum.
- 2: Branch chainsaw.
- E: Picking Objects.
- Q: Seed.
- Z: Undo Object Placement.
- Space Bar: Photo Mode.
As you start to clear stages the game gets 'harder', the stages are longer and you'll have to use more plants and objetcs. As you boost seed with objects they'll grow into giving you more seeds, you can plant more. There's a catch to it, if you place some items on top of some plants you'll kill them and the porcentage of growth will diminish, so you need to be careful with your object placement.
Also, there's a variety of plants that will get unlocked throughout the game, they have various types of growing and they'll spread in different ways all across the map.
And you can choose which one you want to place from the seed inventory.
Creative and Camera Modes
So, yes there's stages and challenges, but you can and will unlock objects to use in the creative mode, a mode where the worlds is yours to create and then to grow plants on.
You have various objects to place, use, create and model using your imagination, creating stories or scenarios or your own and then watching them grow into the plant oblivion, forgotten places nature has conquered.
As you can see there's a lot to choose from, and a lot to be unlocked, but anything you need to create your world.
And if you're happy with your creation, you can see it, record it and share it, all saved into the game's folder.
There's up to 20 different light modes, and you can edit them, just to save that piece of growth you just made.
Conclusion
Cloud Gardens it's a game to chill, to relieve the burden and stress of the day to day, just sit and celebrate the growth of plants, the celebration of nature conquering world, that world that gets us stressed and anxious.
A game to create your own story, your own narrative, creating stories on your mind, a post-apocaliptic story and the advancement of the nature over the daily objects, forgotten and now, useless.
Sit back, turn the volume up, and relax.

Todos amamos los juegos triple A, el mundo basto que nos rodea, la atención al detalle, el gunplay, el gameplay pulido y perfecto, esas historias llenas de personajes interesante y pare usted de contar.
Pero, a veces nos encontramos con juegos distintos, esos juegos que nos hacen pensar ¿cómo el creador pensó ésto?, y así el mundo y ambiente frenético en el que todos vivimos, ya no es representado aquí.
Les traigo, Cloud Gardens, un juego de relajación sobre hacer crecer plantas en un ambiente post-apocalíptico/abandonado en el medio de la nada de nubes.
El Objetivo.
Cloud of Gardens es desarrollado por Thomas van den Berg, creador de la saga Kingdom (Hice una reseña del juego). Esta vez, nos trae un ambiente Lo-Fi, lleno de sonidos relajantes, una estética pixel art simple, lleno de contenido y creatividad.
El objetivo del juego es simple, completar pantallas al llenar la el círculo de porcentaje de crecimiento de plantas, tendrás que arrastrar semillas y objetivos a la escena en concreto, los objetos tendrán un radio de acción que harán crecer a las plantas, y cuando llegues al 100% completarás el nivel.
El mundo es tuyo para crearlo a tu manera, y hacerle crecer plantas alreedor del mismo, abajo a la izquierda tienes el porcentaje de crecimiento, como dije, a llegar al 100% estarás listo para continuar hacia otro nivel. A veces usarás todos los objetos que te ofrece el juego y fallarás en completarlo, así que ahí tendrás que empezar de nuevo.
Gameplay
Para jugar cont eclado y ratón usas el click izquierdo para agarrar y colocar objetos, cuando mantienes el click pulsado y mueves el ratón podrás rotar la escena. Con la rueda del ratón podrás hacer Zoom hacia dentro o fuera, y cuando mantienes un objeto podrás hacerlo rotar. Con el click derecho soltarás el item de nuevo hacia el inventario si no lo quieres poner en ninguna parte.
Puedes usar también el teclado para los atajos:
1: Aspiradora de Semillas.
2: Motosierra de Ramas.
E: Elegir objetos automáticamente.
Q: Elegir Semilla.
Z: Deshacer el objeto puesto.
Space Bar: Modo Foto.
Cuando empiezas a limpiar escenarios el juego obviamente se vuelve más "difícil", los niveles son más largos y tendrás que usar más plantas y objetos. Cuando vas aumentando el crecimiento de las plantas, empezarán a dar más semillas y así podrás plantar más. Y ahí está el truco, tienes que colocar objetos cuidadosamente, si lo haces encima de una planta ésta morirá y el porcentaje de crecimiento disminuirá, así que necesitas tener cuidado.
Además, hay variedad de plantas que irás desbloqueando a lo largo del juego, tienes distintos tipos de crecimiento y se extenderán diferentemente a lo largo del mapa.
Puedes elegir cual quieres usar desde el inventario de semillas:
Modo Creativo y de Foto.
Así que, si hay niveles y retos, pero también irás desbloqueando objetos para usar en el modo creativo, un modo donde el mundo es tuyo para crear y luego hacerle crecer plantas.
Tienes varios objetos para colocar, crear y modelar usando tu imaginación, crear historias y escenarios de tu propia mano y luego viendo como le crece una marea de plantas, espacios olvidados conquistados por la naturaleza.
Como pueden ver, hay mucho de donde elegir, y mucho que desbloquear, pero todo lo necesario para crear tu mundo.
Y si estás feliz con tu creación, puedes grabarlo para compartirlo, directamente desde el juego hacia su carpeta de películas.
Hay más de 20 modos de iluminación, y también puedes editarlo, para luego guardar ese pedazo de crecimiento que acabas de lograr.
Conclusión
Cloud Gardens es un juego para relajarte, para desestresarte de ese peso del día a día, sentarte y celebrar el crecimiento de las plantas conquistando el mundo, ese mundo que nos deja estresados y ansiosos.
Un juego para crear tu propia historia, narrativa, crear esos cuentos en tu mente, un escenario post-apocaliptico y el avance de la naturaleza sobre los objetos cotidianos, ahora olvidados e inútiles.

Hermanito, es bueno verte de nuevo por aquí. Recuerda que siempre estamos en discord y bueno, esta es una red social más, siéntete como en casita. El juego está bueno, es único, al menos no recuerdo haber visto algo así. Lo minimalista me gusta muchísimo y siento que este jueguito lo es. No está mal para tomarle capturas y luego intentar hacer arte con la imagen, creo que servirían como referencias interesantes.
