if you are not a fan of the genre then maybe the license will be enough to bring you in.

In my case I'm not a big fan of either of them, however, with these games it happens to me that, without being a fan, I end up playing them because of their aesthetics and I think the same thing will happen to me with this one, because visually I really like the way it looks. My problem with beat em ups is that after the third level, they start to feel heavy or repetitive 😅.

I agree with you on the repetition part. These games have a serious lack of variety with enemies as they constantly repeat, even when levels are themed there is no variety (additional clothing for instance) in enemies. It is like the developers create 5 enemies and then some backgrounds, a few bosses and call it a day with brawlers.
