[EN/PT-BR] Horizon Forge: Update v1.4.1

Hello my friends! Welcome everyone!

I've made a small update, but one that will certainly help players identify who is online in the game, thus facilitating the creation of duels between them.

The Tavern has been added! Now, players who are online will appear there. This update is currently only available on the PC/Horizontal version. It was conceived and implemented in a record time of less than 1 day (thanks to the power of AI), and with that, I wanted to release it into production to see how it performs.

Players who are online will see 3 statuses:

  • Tavern (green): those who are in the main menu enjoying a cold beer.

  • Searching (gold/yellow): This shows who is actively searching for a match and how much hive they are betting and how many rounds they want to play.

  • In Battle (red): Players who are currently in battle.

With this, I believe it will greatly improve matchmaking. Online players can schedule battles via Discord, WhatsApp, or Telegram, for example, and of course, I will analyze the possibility of an in-game chat in the future to make everything more dynamic. I also think it might be a good idea to add a rule for those who are AFK (away from play), displaying an "absent" or "idle" status. This could also be interesting. Finally, one step at a time! ^^



With the collaboration of @vempromundo, a short text has been added for each hero we currently have; this field is the hero's "lore." A catchy phrase, something related to their class or their life within the universe we are building. Everything is being enriched and improved little by little.

And it doesn't stop there. With his creativity at its peak, he presented me with an idea about equipment, which, when equipped, can bring benefits and penalties to the heroes, along with stats that go beyond HP, attack, and speed, applying to Horizon Forge, a much more RPG-oriented approach.

This part about equipment was something my friend @brunorns had mentioned and talked about implementing in the future, but since I was developing everything alone, I had left it for much later, but now with the help of Vempromundo, it's much easier to implement it.

I found the idea super interesting, so if everything goes well and we think about the correct mechanics and flows, it could make Horizon Forge go from a simple autobattler to something bigger with real RPG elements and much more strategy.

Maybe depending on the equipment you have, you'll want to make a tank even tankier, even if it loses attack and speed, why not? And a DPS, maybe equip something that increases their attack even if it decreases their health and speed. In short, this makes the game much more strategic and unpredictable, so for me, I'm going to bet on this mechanic and do everything to make it work.



Finally, for the mobile version, there was a bug in Glimorio where, when you clicked to select a chapter to read, the last chapter, called "Fusion," was being cut off, without vertical bars, so you couldn't click on it to load the relevant information.

Olá meus amigos! Sejam todos bem vindos!

Fiz uma atualização pequena, mas que com certeza irá ajudar muito para os jogadores identificarem quem está online no jogo e assim facilitar na criação dos duelos entre eles.

Foi adicionada a Taverna! Agora os jogadores que estão online irão aparecer ali. Essa atualização por enquanto está apenas na versão PC/Horizontal. Foi pensada e realizada em um tempo recorde de menos de 1 dia (Graças ao poder da IA) e com isso, já quis soltar em produção para ver como se comporta.

Os jogadores que estiverem online, irão ver 3 status:

  • Tavern (verde): quem está no menu principal tomando uma boa gelada.
  • Searching (dourado/amarelo): quem está buscando partida e já mostra quanto hive está apostando e quantas rodadas quer jogar.
  • In Battle (vermelho): Os jogadores que estão em batalha

Com isso, acredito que vai melhorar bastante para a busca de partidas. Quem estiver online pode marcar as batalhas por Discord, Whatsapp ou Telegram por exemplo e claro, que futuramente irei analisar a possibilidade de um chat dentro do próprio jogo para deixar tudo mais dinâmico. Acho que pode ser uma boa também adicionar uma regra para quem estiver AFK (ausente) e com isso aparecer um "ausent" ou "idle". Isso pode ser interessante também.

Com a colaboração do @vempromundo, foi adicionado um pequeno texto para cada herói que temos no momento, esse campo é a "lore" do herói. Um frase de efeito, algo relacionado a sua classe ou a sua vida dentro do universo que estamos construindo. Tudo sendo bem enriquecido e melhorado ao poucos.

E não para por aí. Com a criatividade a mil, ele me apresentou uma ideia sobre equipamentos, que ao serem equipados podem trazer benefícios e penalidades para os heróis, juntamente com status que vão além do HP, ataque e velocidade, aplicando ao Horizon Forge, uma cara bem mais voltado a um RPG.

Essa parte sobre equipamentos, foi algo que o meu amigo @brunorns havia mencionado e falado sobre implementar no futuro, mas como eu estava desenvolvendo tudo sozinho, tinha deixado para bem depois, mas agora com a ajuda do Vempromundo, ficou mais tranquilo implementar isso.

Eu achei a ideia super interessante, então se der tudo certo e pensarmos nas mecânicas e fluxos corretos, pode fazer com que o Horizon Forge saia de um simples autobattler para algo maior e com elementos reais de RPG e muito mais estratégia.

Talvez de acordo com os equipamentos que você tenha, você queira fazer um tank ficar mais tank, mesmo que ele perca ataque e velocidade, por que não? E um DPS, talvez equipar algo que aumente o seu ataque mesmo que diminua a sua vida e velocidade. Enfim, isso deixa o jogo muito mais estratégico e imprevisível, então por mim, vou apostar nessa mecânica e fazer de tudo para que ela funcione.



Por fim, para a versão mobile, havia um erro no glimorio, onde quando você clicava para selecionar algum dos capítulos para ler, o ultimo capítulo chamado "Fusion" estava sendo cortado, sem barras verticais, então você não conseguia clicar nele para carregar as informações referentes.

That will be a big help. I want to figure out the best way to implement that in the mobile version later; it’ll be great for helping people see who’s online and set up battles that way. We also have the game’s Discord server—we can schedule matches there too.

Look, we really do need people to play and interact. The game is already online, so all we have to do is log in and play, share, write about it, and gather feedback so we can implement more features. That’s more or less the direction we need to move in, so any help is welcome.

If you want to join the game’s Discord server, it’ll be easier for us to chat, schedule duels, and everything else. I want to make Horizon Forge a massive game; I’m looking into whether it’s even possible to log in with just an EVM wallet and use the Altera API from the Magi Network, so we can expand the game beyond the Hive blockchain.

Thanks for letting us know what you are planning for the future and what you have implemented recently.

Maybe it's just me, but I like the simplicity of the game as it now exists. I remember how Splinterlands was simple at the start, and then became much more complex. That's all good. But just thinking there could be the choice to play the classic/current version of the game in the future, along with whatever the latest and greatest version might be. Just a thought!
