Este año fue una gran sorpresa para mí y de seguro para todos también, yo de pequeño ya había jugado y probado lo que ha sido una de las sagas que más me han maravillado, y entre ellas su primer juego, del cual vamos a hablar el día de hoy, pero no vamos a hablar de su primera versión, la cual es un juego para Nintendo DS sino vamos a hablar de su remasterización para Android. Remasterización que mejora la experiencia de juego en su totalidad. Remasterización que tuve la suerte de encontrar y jugar este año.
El Profesor Layton y la Villa Misteriosa nos cuenta la historia de un profesor de arqueología llamado Layton y su aprendiz Luke, a los que se les ha encomendado la tarea de resolver el misterio de una herencia, teniendo así que buscar y encontrar la "Manzana Dorada", objeto el cual todo el mundo en la villa desconoce su ubicación. En el proceso de búsqueda se irán dando cuenta que todo lo que ocurre se torna extraño y que existe un enigma aún mayor que tendrán que resolver primero para cumplir su objetivo previamente impuesto.
Las mecánicas de juego son muy sencillas, tendremos que utilizar nuestro dedo para ejercer todas nuestras acciones, como si de un lápiz táctil de Nintendo DS se tratase. El juego se basa específicamente en la resolución de puzzles para poder avanzar en la aventura, para poder obtener información y demás cosas debemos de solventar una cantidad exacta de estos sino tenemos los suficientes se nos impedirá avanzar, y tendrás que dar vuelta atrás para llegar a la cantidad necesaria. Con la remasterización se han añadido algunos nuevos, dándole un toque de frescura para los que ya habían jugado con anterioridad el juego.
La banda sonora corre de la mano de Tomohito Nishiura, compositor de toda la trilogía principal. Para este juego, su enfoque fue hacer que las canciones sonaran lo más posible de manera misteriosa y caprichosa, según sus propias palabras. Lo que más destaca de todo, es el uso del acordeón como instrumento principal, cosa que se verá reflejada en secuelas. De esta banda sonora sale una de las piezas musicales más aclamadas y recordadas por los videojugadores, debido a la maestría de su creación y la implementación que se le dió:
Dicha canción ya forma parte de lo que se le podría llamar cultura general, muchas personas habrán escucharán ésta canción y les sonará familiar o se les hará muy fácil identificar de donde proviene.
El apartado visual en esta remasterización se ve totalmente mejorado y con un aire fresco, añadiendo sprites y escenarios de alta calidad que se adaptan perfectamente en los dispositivos móviles, al compararlos con la versión original, se ve que de verdad hicieron un empeño en mejorar el trabajo que ya habían hecho para brindar algo nuevo que mejora la experiencia del jugador. El diseño de los personajes es único y especial, cada aldeano tiene un diseño que hace que fácilmente puedas identificarlos, además de que se nota que van de acuerdo a su personalidad. Los escenarios prestan la ambientación necesaria para dejar el misterio requerido para invitarnos a continuar investigando.
Este juego ha ganado varios premios por su excelente desempeño en dispositivos móviles, tanto fue su éxito que dieron vía abierta a la secuela, El Profesor Layton y la caja de Pandora. Esperemos y sigan teniendo éxito en el lanzamiento de estas excelentes remasterizaciones, para así poder disfrutar toda esta grandiosa saga de manera portable, en la palma de nuestra mano.

This year was a big surprise for me and for sure for everyone too, I had already played and tried what has been one of the sagas that has amazed me the most, and among them its first game, which we're going to talk about today, but we're not going to talk about its first version, which is a game for the Nintendo DS but we're going to talk about its remastering for Android. Remastering that improves the entire gameplay experience. Remastering that I was lucky enough to find and play this year.
Professor Layton and the Mystery Village tells us the story of an archaeology professor named Layton and his apprentice Luke, who have been given the task of solving the mystery of an inheritance, having to search and find the Golden Apple, an object whose location is unknown to everyone in the village. In the process of searching, they will realize that everything that happens becomes strange and that there is an even greater enigma that they will have to solve first in order to fulfill their previously imposed objective.
The game mechanics are very simple, we will have to use our finger to exercise all our actions, as if it were a stylus of Nintendo DS. The game is based specifically on solving puzzles to move forward in the adventure, to get information and other things we must solve an exact amount of these if we do not have enough will prevent us from advancing, and you will have to turn back to reach the amount needed. With the remastering some new ones have been added, giving it a touch of freshness for those who had played the game before.
The soundtrack is by Tomohito Nishiura, the composer of the entire main trilogy. For this game, his approach was to make the songs sound as mysterious and whimsical as possible, in his own words. Most notably, he used the accordion as his main instrument, which will be reflected in sequels. From this soundtrack comes one of the most acclaimed and remembered pieces of music by video players, due to the mastery of its creation and the implementation it was given:
The visual part in this remastering is totally improved and with a fresh air, adding high quality sprites and scenarios that fit perfectly in the mobile devices, when comparing them with the original version, you can see that they really made an effort to improve the work they had already done to provide something new that improves the player's experience. The design of the characters is unique and special, each villager has a design that makes it easy to identify them, and you can tell that they match your personality. The settings provide the necessary ambience to leave the mystery required to invite further investigation.
This game has won several awards for its excellent performance on mobile devices, so much so that they gave way to the sequel, Professor Layton and Pandora's Box. Hopefully, they will continue to be successful in launching these excellent remasterings, so that we can enjoy this whole great saga in a portable way, in the palm of our hand.
