Retro gaming fans are about to lose access to 39 games across four cartridges on the Evercade platform. Well, unless you purchase them soon, while supplies last, because Blaze is ending production on four legacy carts in their catalog. These cartridges will be moved to their “Legacy section” which means they will no longer be in production. They state on their website; Legacy carts are carts they no longer have the license to produce and must cease production.
Nothing New for Blaze, No Need To Be Concerned
It is just business as usual when licensing content from others. At least Blaze tells gamers before sunsetting the cartridges. As stated on their website production will continue until the end of 2025. Copies will be available via retailers after 2026, but Blaze will not be able to sell units anymore.

Mega Cat Studios Collection 2
Piko Interactive Collection 2
Sydney Hunter Collection
It does suck that a total of 39 games will be harder to acquire, legally, by gamers. Some, such as those from Piko Interactive, will likely continue to be available from the publisher directly. Others, some I have never heard of, this may be the only opportunity for fans to own physical editions.
Value for the Money
Collections are a great way of saving money if you are a fan of the majority of titles in each collection. Take the Piko Interactive Collection 2 cartridge for instance, it contains 13 sports and racing games. For fans of those style games, this could be an AMAZING collection to buy at $30 USD. Not a sports fan? Look at another collection on the Blaze website, they have many available.
The point is, fans could do a lot worse than purchasing a collection like those for the Evercade. I wish companies offered similar collections, even digitally, at similar prices. Some of these collections, I would gladly drop the cash on to play them via Steam.
