While Maiden of the Dark for the Original Game Boy is successfully funded, it is worth noting you still can back it. Fans of action games like Contra C, the various Star Wars games on NES, etc will want to check this one out. You play a female protagonist armed with a sword and projectiles such as ninja stars. The art style is impressively detailed and the game looks to flow nicely.

Maiden of the Dark is set in ancient Japan, complete with various enemies that match lore and legends of the time. The question is, can you complete your quest?
New Game Boy games are not all that prolific, they are still rare, especially in comparison to digital only releases. TigerChainsaw Studios are offering multiple purchase options including physical carts and a digital version of Maiden of the Dark.
I love when retro developers take into account not everyone has the hardware to play on original hardware. Especially when the price reflects the difference of investment, digital being cheaper, while you miss out on physical items, of course.
Let’s Talk About Their Advertising
I run a public relations company and love, absolutely love, seeing companies like this take on actual marketing. TigerChainsaw Studios have done just that with some print advertising mockups for Maiden of the Dark.
If print was still something you would not be wrong in thinking these would fit right in. They are great. They make me miss the 80s and early 90s, before the Internet was a thing.
This is my favorite of their mockups. It just feels like an ad that would have run when the Game Boy was being pushed by Nintendo. It would have fit right in with advertising in Gamepro or Video Games and Computer Entertainment circa 1989.
