RE: Quake II Re-Imagined by Artificial Intelligence by Microsoft

It is sad that AI is being used that way. So many menial tasks could be automated with AI freeing up untold numbers of hours of effort each year by people.

Instead we have AI making bad looking fake action figures of people, people automating social media accounts only for greed (Threads by Meta is absolutely overrun with AI bot accounts ever since they introduced monetization), and more.

We have teens using AI to figure out how to get out of going out with friends while businesses are using AI to filter candidates for a job.

I don't see a positive outcome from all this reliance on AI. It is quite dumbing down of people in real time either professionally or in a more personal manner.

All these AI programs and we don't have apps or anything readily available to help with dinner choices based on ingredients available (I know there was a website at one point but it was never really promoted or popular).

Cars with computers in them but no AI to tell the driver exactly what that light on the dash means, pull local repair shops etc (auto repair industry can't have that happen).

AI could be amazing in helping customize lesson plans for teachers if it was setup correctly. Following along with test scores, answers, etc to help pinpoint areas students are struggling with. That could eliminate TONS of hours of work for the teacher, reduced to a few minutes for results. But no, we have to have AI working on rewriting some tired useless get rich scheme so people can sell it to the AI bots programmed to find money making opportunities on social media.

It is disgusting when you think about all the ways AI could be used to help improve lives but it is being wasted on Simpsons photo filters being animated or whatever the latest digital crap that is being made to be forgotten before Friday gets here.
