Hey gamers! I started playing Steel Hunters on Steam. I received the announcement that it was in pre-release and decided to download it. It's only 26 GB at the moment, so I said, well, why not? Plus, with my connection, I downloaded it in practically 10 minutes. So, once it was installed, I started testing it. It's a mecha-style battle game with field missions and extraction.
The game isn't fully optimized, which is the first thing you might notice. However, it looks pretty good, and 1080p isn't bad at all. However, it's been a while since I've seen a game that spiked my card temperature to 83 DEGREES, haha, with everything set to epic. So, well, we'll have to wait and see how the game runs in the final version and how much power the card can take. I currently have an 8GB AMD 6600 with an i5-11600KF 3.91GHz and 32GB of RAM, so I can comfortably play a lot of things, and I can say with certainty that the game needs optimization.
On top of that, there's something interesting about the fact that they'll be giving away absolutely EVERYTHING during this Early Access phase, including the Premium Battle Pass items, etc. The best part is that, according to the announcement, this will be permanent, and everything you do during this phase will be saved. So, this is great; if you like the game, you'll be able to get a lot of things out of it.
I didn't get a chance to finish all the tutorials, but I hope to soon, since it seems everything is made up of tutorials at the beginning. I didn't even get to see the first mission or online play mode with other players. It has a Delta Force-style feel to the environments and worlds it presents, but with the third-person robot dynamics. Nothing like Titan Fall.
I'll continue to play the game a lot more and will bring more updates about it, as well as more about my perspective on the game itself. So far, I can tell you: it's not bad, but it didn't make a huge impression either. So, hey, gamers! See you in a future post.
Good recommendation to spend the afternoon, this game looks like Transformers haha.
I played it for a while yesterday and it's actually not bad, haha. It ends up having a pretty engaging shooting dynamic, and the mechs, especially the animal-like ones, are reminiscent of Beast Mode, haha. Thanks for your comment!
