A good afternoon to all, I always make it clear that I am a fan of simulator games and strategies due to the fact that many of them take up little of my time that I can not leave a 100% dedication to that as is required in MMORPGS games and other such, I am sharing today what may be an unknown game of the application platforms, meet the game Stormbound.

Stormbound, a hidden gem in the great sea of strategic games

Languages: +10
Developer: Paladin Studios
Available for Android and iOS, Desktop via Steam

Stormbound is the classic card game but similar to strategy games in action, you must carefully choose your deck to battle against other players in search of qualifying for better championships, in total there are four types of biomes with gods for each, the interactive event system plus a forum included internally makes it attractive to share great battles in the community, forget the Pay-2-Win part although the in-game purchases are only in order to speed up the achievement of your cards although all can be acquired through the rewards of ranking, daily matches or weekly promoted events.

For those who judge the game by the graphic quality here the developers have not left anything to be desired, great visual effects of battle in addition to great work on the design of each character both in graphic card and in battle, highlight the gods that each contains a unique effect, my favorite is the god of satyrs, a huge deer with a staff, his ability allows if not played with any adjacent allies that are not satyrs make it larger in attack power each round in addition to returning your card to your hand, Usually works more in early battles since in longer battles he will not be able to grow enough because of the little space on the battlefield, as in the game Splinterlands you can increase the level of your cards burning other cards like this, but they will not gain another ability or something like that but an increase in the amount of steps available or attack power.

A bit of gameplay

As in any game that contains this strategic gameplay is presented the base mechanics of the game, besides with the tutorial you acquire your initial cards to battle against other players, here we start with the campaign mode fighting the CPU in the 4 available biomes each with a set of cards of the god of that biome, we then have the groups separated by: Eastern Swarm, Winter Pact, Armored Syndicate and Shadowfen Tribes.

I like to use the Swarm of the East which is of the satyrs with some other neutral cards, I like them because their composition involves in upgrading and improving your monsters through the amount and sacrifice of the goats, an example is the Unreal Moon card that each round adds +1 to all living satyrs in battle, This is very beneficial if I play more defensive and do not mind attacking after about 5 or 6 rounds, the focus of the game is to bring down the enemy castle that has an amount of life depending on the level of the player, in the beginning you will only find between 10~12 and rarely higher or lower than that.

Continuing the campaign mode since I am kind of stuck in the ranked mode I was fighting against the winter goddess, the problem is that against the satyrs some of their monsters get a big advantage with freezing enemies, this ends up skipping a round of my bonus of satyrs on the field which would be the same thing as throwing away a card along with the mana used, fortunately I was lucky enough to have 3 spell cards in my hand that eliminated these freezing monsters from it and I was able to form the giant family again, you can check the image below of how the battlefield was after using the above mentioned tactic.

I am thinking of starting my search for cards of this type, ice gods tend to be more passive since their monsters mostly involve trapping the enemy by freezing or recovering mana after each round, I was already kind of worried in a battle where my enemy managed to gather 17 mana while I was still getting my seventh mana, what I liked about this game is the versatility you can have by having different biomes to choose from, meaning I can't have all the gods in my deck that would be an almost impossible thing to defeat me.

Final thoughts about the game

I particularly loved the game in all its content, good graphics, sound quality worthy of being enjoyed while having that long and not cloying match, scalable difficulty since at lower levels I did not come across opponents exaggerated in cards that I could not yet obtain at my level.
My only criticism is the lack of dialogue between players within the game, although there is a community with an in-game forum I don't find it enough for online games where interacting with other players is important without needing voice channels like Discord, Skype or Team3Speak.

Card games are something that people generally find fun, but it's important to keep it going and make it play itself. How many hours do you think this game can be played?

It depends a lot, but so far I have not had matches longer than 10 minutes, on average between 5~7 taking into account that I am still of a low rank in the game. But the modes of events that have limits of rounds and mana that should be less than 5
