Sometimes it seems like your plans are never meant to be planned and nothing goes on your way. I have shared this in my last post click here to check it out where the farewell treat went wrong and the Chief Guests were unable to show up due to some personal reasons. So, it got postponed and on the other hand, we together messed up by eating in the most expensive restaurants at last. Past is past, lets talk about how the actual farewell went through.
Finally, last Sunday of Ramadan, 7th of April, we all decided to have the most awaited farewell party of our dear colleague who got married recently and is going to Europe with her husband, at Foods Inn restaurant, one of the most beautiful restaurants in SMCHS, Karachi. I find this restaurant a bit expensive while others think otherwise. So, my vote doesn’t count when all others agreed. We didn’t know that some bad news was waiting for us. When we reached there, we saw a notice on the front door of the restaurant that it is closed due to sudden death of some close relative of the owner. With no other option left due to lack of time for Iftar, we decided to sit in the nearest restaurant “Royal Ice & Spice” located just the opposite of this restaurant.
Royal Ice & Spice is one of those restaurants which I am seeing since my childhood and they really worked hard and time to time, renovated and finally, it is in this situation and condition, looking beautiful. It was not the same few years ago but it is one of the famous restaurants in Karachi. Since 1980, written on their building, it is so true. I remember having Milk shakes from this restaurant with my Brothers when I was young.
Coming back to the Iftar Farewell Party, it was nice to see our x-colleague with her Husband. Everyone gathered and luckily, got a suitable seating for the Iftar and Dinner. It is peak hours and not easy to get table without reservation but due to some lucky person the group, our party didn’t get messed up.
We were served with dates, Fruit Salad, Fries and dynamite Chicken as starter for Iftar. Fruit Salad and Dynamite Chicken just rocked and was perfect starters. Our table was the most noisiest table in the restaurant and I can see the faces of people who were uncomfortable with us. Such meetings and party do have loud gossips and people were sitting far away and many speaking at the same time which creates a very bad impression on others. One of the waiters who got complained came to us and requested to lower our voices hehehe such an embarrassing situation but who cares, we carried on our party and if anyone have issue, they can change their table. We enjoyed our Iftar and then went for prayers.
When we came back, the dinner was right on our table waiting for us. One of our friend placed this order as we were so busy in gossips but he perfectly choose the right items from the menu. BBQ platter was awesome with perfect combination of BBQ items containing Seekh Kababs, Behari Boti, Malai Boti and Chicken Tikka. Then we have Chowmein which is must as many of us likes it a lot. Other items were Club Sandwich and Chicken Shashlick. It was a nice order for group of 9 people.
First I had some items from BBQ platter, their taste was amazing. Then I had a piece of club sandwich, it was just OK for me however, others liked it too. Chowmein was delicious. At last, I had Chinese Rice with the sauce and vegetables left in Chicken Shashlick as Chicken pieces were missing in it. It was nice too. All of us enjoyed the dinner and our time together. When the food is yummy, time becomes memorable with friends.
Funny thing and the most shocking thing of the day, when the bill arrives, I took out my debit card and paid the bill just to make sure that the Husband of our colleague unable to do so, he is a nice guy and can do such things. Others were in shock seeing this situation and they all thanked me for the dinner as if it was from my side. I was like no no no you guys took it wrong, but you know what happens in the gathering, they were making fun and kept thanking for the dinner. Later I pleaded them by making poor guy face to transfer the dividend amount in my account and I got it later that night. So relaxed.
After the dinner, we had a cup of tea at nearby tea stall and once again, spent an hour or so in gossips. In fact, we were just making fun of each other and pulling leg of each other and making our time memorable once again. We have some precious, memorable selfies from there that will always remind us of this fun-loving time.

man looks like a great dinner. dinners like these are the best o.o i like the ones where everyone shares some dishes so we can try everything at a restaurant!
this is the best thing to do , to share the dishes so everyone can taste each of them. Yes, we had a great time having dinner together and its a memorable one
haha exactly. It's very normal I think in asian countries to share the dishes but need a decent group of people and its good. Have a good week ahead man
