Yesterday we were painting wooden parts for the community garden containers. We still have some more parts to paint and also backside of the parts must be painted ... 😅
The blue paint color was a natural color made with flaxseed oil. It seems flaxseed oil has an effect to protect wood.
It really smelled like flaxseed, which I liked a lot. For me it smelled like a bit seaweed-ish too (I saw flaxseed oil was used in a vegan cook book to mimic fish).
The parts will be assembled around an IBC (Intermediate Bulk Container).
Then I expect the seven containers forms a community garden like what I saw in Linz in February but more with annual/biannual plants.
I'm exited how the community garden look like 😊
昨日はコミュニティガーデンのコンテナ用の木の部品をひたすら塗装していました。まだまだ色を塗っていない部品があるのと、昨日塗った部品も裏側を塗る必要があります。
青い塗料はおもしろい塗料で、亜麻仁油を作って使った自然素材のものだそうです。調べてみると、ドイツのウェブサイトが出てきて、亜麻仁油には木材を保護する効果があるとのこと。環境先進国ドイツ的です。

缶を開けて塗り始めると、化学塗料のにおいは皆無で、かわりに亜麻仁油の香りがしてとても気に入りました。あと、日本人の私としては海苔っぽいにおいにも感じました（亜麻仁油はビーガンの料理本で魚を真似るために使っているのを見かけたのであながち間違いではないはず・・・）。
塗装が終わったらこんな感じにIBCという業務用コンテナのまわりに組み上がる予定です。
コンテナは7つで、フォークリフトで適宜配置を変えられます。2月にリンツで見たような感じのコミュニティガーデンを作れるといいな。リンツのコンテナには木が植っていましたが、一年草や多年草を植えたいと考えています。
さてさてどうなることやら。いきなりの大きな庭にドキドキしつつ（私は当初作っても小さめのコンテナ数個くらいかなと思っていたので w）、どんな風になるのか楽しみでもあります 😊

亜麻仁油と言えば、もう7、8年前になりますが就労支援の作業所で木工の仕事をしていたときに、仕上げにニス代わりに使っていたのが亜麻仁油でした。木目を生かすものを作っていたので仕上げたら亜麻仁油を塗っていました。食器にも使えました。
おにぎりメーカーを木で作っていて、仕上げにオイルを塗っているのですが、最初はくるみででもアレルギーが心配で、亜麻仁油に切り替えたのを思い出しました。自分の製品なのに忘れていました😅
That kind of container (they look beautiful and neat) is what I want for the vegetable garden that I am planning to build outside the house.
