Last week I cut a few branches of mint on the balcony and put them in water to make new plants. Thanks to the warm weather, roots quickly comes out.
I thought it would be nice to have mint planted in a container in the community garden I maintain. Another reason is that I thought a cafe in the market hall need it. The café is only open on Saturdays when the market is on, and the potted mint in the café sometimes lacks water. So it would be nice if they could use mint from the community garden.
I potted the Japanese mint this morning. I keep the German mint in water some more.
It enjoyed chrysanthemums with the mint cuttings in the kitchen. They were on the table at the restaurant where I had breakfast with a friend the other day. Cuttings can be a deco 😊
Talking about cuttings, the Pothos I brought from the kitchen of the art university I stayed in February is about to having a new leaf. It is as if saying to me "hey, I know gardening is fun but take time to create artworks too!" Yes, I do!
I started thinking about plants and art, plants and fundraising ... For the first step, I created an account "PlantsAndFriends" on OpenSea and started making a NFT collection called 'Ukiyoe Veggies' (Ukiyoe: Japanese traditional illustration). I'm going to add new ones time by time.

先週バルコニーのミントの枝を数本切って、株を増やすために水に挿していました。暖かいこともあって、以前お友達からもらった「Japanese Mint」という日本のミントからはさっそく根っこが出てきました。
もうバルコニーにミントがあるのに株を増やそうと思った理由は、コミュニティーガーデンのコンテナにミントが植わっていたらいいなと思ったからです。もうひとつ理由があって、マーケットホールの一角にあるカフェでミントと生姜のお茶を出しているのですが、カフェが開くのはマーケットのある土曜日だけで、カフェに置いてある鉢植えのミントの元気がないこともあり、コミュニティーガーデンから使ってもらえたらいいかもと。
早起きをしたので日本のミントは鉢植えにしてしまいました。ミントは強いのでここまでくれば無事に育つでしょう。ドイツのミントはもうちょっと水に挿しておきます。
ミントの水刺しと一緒にいけていた菊は、先日友人と朝食を食べたレストランのテーブルに飾ってあって、家でも飾りたいと思い買ってきたものです。日本で菊と言うと仏壇やお墓にお供えする花というイメージですが、ドイツでは普通に飾ります。ドイツに移った頃はなじめませんでしたが、10年もいると慣れてしまいます。
そうそう、挿木といえば、2月にリンツの芸術大学に制作滞在していたときにお土産にもらってきたポトスから無事に新芽が出てゆっくりと育っています。このところ庭庭庭とガーデニングやコミュニティーガーデンの立ち上げに熱をあげていますが、作品もゆっくりしっかり作っていきたいところです。
植物とアート、植物と資金調達・・・みたいなキーワードで考え始めて、OpenSeaでPlantsAndFriendsというアカウントを作って、「Ukiyoe Veggies」（浮世絵野菜）というコレクションを公開し始めました。よかったら覗いてみてください。日々うまくできた野菜を追加していこうと思います。

I know some people don't really like mint because it spreads so quickly and gets everywhere, almost like a weed, but I love it and could never get enough of that smell!
They are so strong so that we'd better keep them in a pot 😁 I love it too. I can drink fresh mint tea all around the year.
YES!!! Green tea with mint is also one of my favorites!
I've never combined them even I'm from green teat country 🇯🇵 I must try it 🍵
