Plant when you want to have something to harvest in the future. It is necessary to have a garden in your school or at home. Why? It is because having such would be a great help whenever we don't have something to eat on the table. Why spend so much to buy vegetables in the market when it's possible to have it in our backyard? Therefore, it is a matter of one's willingness and hardwork to do it then.

Hello there all the fantastic bloggers of this amazing community. How are you? I hope everything is fine and you are in good health as well. Actually, this is my first time posting in this community but I know all of you here are very supportive. Just enjoy reading until the end guys.

This is the area where I am assigned to. The soil is very hard but I am thankful for my students who helped me cultivating this land. At first I am hesitant if I will be able to enhance this area by myself, I don't have my advisory class and I am pregnant. Well, God is always good that he let the heart of my students be soften to have a helping hand extended in doing it.

My students extended their utmost help to me, they were the ones making this area ready for planting some medicinal plants, spices and herbs. After cultivating the land, I asked them to bring manure to be mixed with the soil for it to be more healthy. Honestly, I don't know if I can make this without them. Looking at my students while doing it made me realized that indeed no man is an island. We need each other to achieve something.

This 4 month old preggy teacher is preparing the seedlings since the area is ready to have some plants to be planted. This is the only thing that I am allowed to do then. I am not into more strenuous activities with regard to it to avoid something not good to happen. As long as I can I will spend effort for this to make this area ready for evaluation although this is just a sort of participation.

Yay, it's time to plant! First, I arranged the alugbati and the chili for it to have an equal distance between each other. It's good to be considerate on the distance between them for when the time it grows, it has enough space to sprout then.

I don't know if I have a green thumb because I am not fond of planting but this time is heartily done by me. Although at some point I am catching up my breath because my stomach was being compressed. I enjoyed planting then. Anyway, I took some time to stand up and rest a little bit before proceeding to the next.

I was the one planting this because it's Friday and in the morning we had a closing program for the career guidance week and the principal declared a half day class due to an important reason then. It was timely that it rained so the soil is wet and it is not hard for me to dig it up using a bolo.

At last, I have planted the two plots already. Though there are still three plots to be planted with another necessary vegetables, medicinal plants, spices and herbs. I already humbly ask my students to bring those needed plants to be planted to the remaining area then. Hopefully, they will bring it as soon as possible.

Some of my students did bring a lemon grass which is why I asked them to plant it in between the plants I have planted. I am grateful for their thoughtfulness being shown then. Though I am still waiting for the other to bring those things I've asked them to bring it in school just for the remaining plots be filled with the necessary plants being planted as well.

A teacher is not only a teacher! good job maam!

So true sir. So many tasks hand over to us. But as flexible as we are, everything is possible.

Omg! Congratulations on being pregnant! Didn't know about this. Shouldn't you be doing LESS activities now? 😂 but seems like your love for the school is prevalent. Good to know that others especially the students are helping you grow your garden! Anyways, take care of yourself please.

Thank you so much @indayclara.hehehehe.. I am but this time since all teachers are compulsory to have an area needed to be cultivated which is why I am not exempted. A few year's back our High school in town decided it was important to start a garden. The science teachers were talking and realized, many students simply had NO IDEA really, where our food comes from. oh, they knew it grew somewhere, but most said, "Just go to the market" and buy some.

It is an eye opener, and all young should learn what it takes to grow and where food comes from.

Thank you so much for your kind words @bluefinstudios .. Indeed, having a garden in school is of great help more so in our place here. Most of the students belong to the less privilege ones. Sometimes they will go to school with an empty stomach. So having such can help them. We will use the harvested vegetables in feeding them. It's safe because we use organic fertilizers.

So many great things you do! I wish there were more schools growing food, for the school, and the students.

Again thank you so much then. All of the schools here belong to our district did the same thing. That's our one way of helping just to minimize the malnourished students we have here.
