AN ELEGANT GARDEN

GREETINGS COMMUNITY

I recently had the opportunity to visit a friend's house and I was amazed by the garden she has created, which she has dedicated many hours of work and attention to.
The plants have become her best companion, as her children are on the road all the time.

I love orchids, as they can be used for decoration or as a gift, but I can't plant my own orchid and she had to replant some orchids that needed more space, because they were too crowded.

She explained to me that it is very important to work with the roots, that you have to do it very calmly because you have to remove all the substrate that is dead and is the black part that you can see, but you have to do it very delicately so as not to damage the good ones, which are the ones that keep the green or greyish colour.

After removing all the damaged part, a small cut is made with the scissors to the roots so that they gain strength, I did not know about this part.
Then she puts it in a pot, or in a coconut shell, but she prefers to put it in a wood, and to fix it she will love it without hurting the roots or the plant.

On the other side she had already planted a platicerio, but she tells me that it is much more delicate because the roots are plate-shaped and very delicate.

She explains to me that she prefers to transport them in wood or in a tree, because they grow more luxuriantly and have more space, since in a coconut shell or in a pot the space is much smaller, but for interior decoration they use those that are planted in pots or coconut, which depends on the purpose for which the orchid is going to be used.

But this part is important, so is their care and attention.
The best way to water orchids is by immersion. When their roots turn from their usual green colour to a lighter greyish shade, this is the perfect time to water them. As for the time, it will be approximately once a week or every 10 days and they cannot be watered with water from the street, as it contains a lot of chlorine, so we must mix it with rainwater or filtered water.
They need a lot of ventilation, but little sun, so they are ideal for interior decoration in the home.

After explaining to me all the work and dedication with which she does it, I understood why she says that plants are her greatest company, as she spends a lot of time looking after them and is always looking for resources to improve the quality of life of her plants or 'my girls' as she affectionately calls them, and seeing them grow and become green day by day makes her feel happy, and she could not find a better motivation and company to keep them company, and feel useful.

This is how orchids develop when they are planted in wood or in a tree, it's hard work.

If you have come this far and have enjoyed and learned as much as I have, then I look forward to your nice comments.

The photos were taking by me with my pnone and editated with canva.

I have one orchid and always changing the substrate of it, annually but it's not so delicate. I know I'm always watching some videos to do it right, but so far so good.

Thanks for your opinion, I would like to see your orchid
